  1. Dude. Take it up with Kiley McDaniel and fangraphs. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/evaluating-the-prospects-toronto-blue-jays/ "There are three lefties in the lower levels to keep tabs on: LHP Evan Smith (6’5/190 lefty was 4th rounder in 2013 out of Alabama HS, sits 91-92 with heavy sink and has hit 95 mph, he has deception and the curveball*and change show flashes, but mechanics/command need more work and that should unlock his potential, but there’s Matt Thornton type upside as is), LHP Patrick Murphy (underslot 3rd rounder in 2013 came from the same*Arizona HS as Mitch Nay one year later and was drafted from looks Toronto got in his junior year because*he missed the whole 2013 season with Tommy John rehab; he came back very late in 2014 and should be set for 2015; at his best, he sat 90-92"
  2. Jayson Aquino was a waiver claim from the Rockies. I actually think he was DFA'd to make room for John Axford, but don't quote me on that.
  3. He's not I took that from Kiley McDaniel's Fangraph's Jays prospects list, they had him as a lefty in the lower levels to watch.

  5. Lol, I was just trying to cut and paste a concise post. One that had a couple of different lists like the admin post asked for. Instead I put a "Great Wall of Text. I will post a list of 35 from fangraphs in a better way shortly.

Rob Rasmussen Yeah s*** sorry, that was a work in progress. For fangraphs top 35 and other prospects to watch see link below! LOL
  7. Jamie Moyer ...if we signed him and Julio Franco we could have a great geriatric theme going.
  8. I just want to see Aaron Sanchez have a good season, because as a Blue Jays fan, his success means my team has more success.
  9. It certainly doesn't hurt to surround our young developing pitching prospects with classy veterans.
  10. Adam Lind's back issue resurfaces on Friday Adam Lind | MLW (March 6, 2015 8:43 PM EST) Adam Lind was held out of the Brewers lineup on Friday due to soreness in his back. Lind has dealt with a long history of back issues, which flared up while taking grounders on Thursday. Brewers manager Ron Roenicke indicated that he believes the issue is minor and that Lind should return to the lineup in a couple of days. SOURCE: ADAM MCCALVY ON TWITTER I have to say it. It would appear that Adam Lind's back trouble is an actual physical problem and not the Jays "incompetent medical staff". Hey Adam your back felt great from the treatment Milwaukee was giving you because YOU WEREN'T PLAYING BASEBALL. It would appear that once you resumed the rigors of twisting it at full speed, its your back that's the problem. Sorry and now this thread may die, and we all can move on I hope.
  11. I believe he's 0 for the Spring so far. (Its early). Though he did manage to get on base late in the game yesterday. In what must have been a comical "throw your bat in the crowd swinging at a third strike, on a pitch to the backstop, than run to first". I cannot comment on how his defense has looked. He did get thrown out attempting to steal later in that inning.
  12. Korecky's player stats. He actually had a good Dominican Winter League. Also a link to the rest of the Jays Winter League stats. http://mlb.mlb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?pos=P&sid=l131&t=p_pbp&pid=445090 http://mlb.mlb.com/milb/stats/org.jsp?id=tor
  13. Awesome article HERPDERP. I'm glad to see that we were able to get an excellent pitcher like that due to injury a la Lucas Giolito. I hope he has a great year.
  14. I'm going to hold off making any kind of judgment until we have a few more games. Just like I'm not going to declare that Kevin Pillar is going to lead the team in HR's.
  15. I can't/won't argue numbers like that. I gave a prediction for WAR, time will tell. If I were a betting man I would bet on fans/zips/steamer projections over my own. Lol, you have made your point regarding pitcher wins.
  16. Did we invite Matt Albers to spring training? Never mind I'm a f***ing idiot, Andrew Albers. Matt Albers is in White sox training camp.
  17. I think his WAR will be 1.6-1.8. His Steamer, Fans, and Zips predicts 1.2, 1.2 and 0.7, respectively.
  18. Do you just post your picks for the game in this thread?
  19. Okay that's a fair statement. My point is I think Happ is going to have a good year in Seattle, both in wins and in peripheral pitching statistics. It was easier to give a projected amount of wins in a quick post.
  20. Did you just really make the statement "Wins mean absolutely nothing"? Where is Herm Edwards when you need him. I'm all for advanced analytics, believe me I'm a math nerd. But at the end of each and every game, just give me a W, the rest does not matter.
  21. I'm realistic. It obviously means I don't have any problem with trading them for what we got back. Would you disagree with that assessment? A number 3 pitcher means you're probably one of the top 100-150 pitchers in the world. That certainly doesn't suck.
  22. I really do like Kendall Graveman. However, I think J.A. Happ, with a decent framing catcher and the hitters park is going to win 13-15 games this year. I hope that both sides win that deal, and Saunders plays well with us. Short term I think Happ, long term I think Graveman is going to be a very decent 3-4 type SP.
  23. I think its a fairly common problem that hitters who have early success experience. You start to think you can hit anything and teams and pitchers start to "climb the ladder" in their game plans and pitch execution. The question this year will be whether he can make that adjustment to lay off the strike at the very top of the strike zone and above. The key is to be able to do so without giving up some of your aggressiveness that makes the great hitter you are. He may sacrifice 5-8 homeruns by doing so, but also likely cut down 30-50 strikeouts. If anyone can figure it out, it is someone who has his talent. The fact he has recognized and acknowledged this is what he needs to do, makes it more likely he will be able to.
  24. That's really cool. I had no idea that was his background. I knew there was a reason that I registered and started participating in this forum.
