  1. I absolutely love watching Tulo mash. With EE and Bats gone at the end of the year - we're going to need him to be the 130+ wRC+ hitter in the middle of this order. I acknowledge the risk of $90M in a 32 year old player - but I'm not sure we're going to have the luxury of trading his bat out of the lineup (assuming it's primarily a salary dump). No idea what's going to happen - but in the meantime, I'm going to simply sit back and enjoy this beautiful baseball player.
  2. I absolutely love Jason Grilli. He's a beauty. A free beauty!
  3. Correct - my bad. There's probably some truth to what you're saying. So many variables. I've given up trying to compare - I simply love baseball BECAUSE of it's history and all the quirks in it. Ruth and Gerhig - and the folklore surrounding them is simply amazing and I see no need to try and compare them to Mike Trout.
  4. POTY Candidate? TOTY Candidate?
  5. I just threw up in my mouth a little.
  6. Incredibly difficult subject to discuss - yet such an amazing debate. One factor I don't see mentioned yet is there were only 8 teams. Yes there was a smaller talent pool (no black player or players from other countries) - but there were significantly fewer player and thus only the best played. Think about how much better teams would be today if there were only 20-25 teams. Ruth his more HR's in a season than any other TEAM did - twice. Back in the day Wrigley Field didn't even have a fence to hit HR's over. Fans were holding a rope, which they would move in when the Cubs were up and move back when the visiting team came to the plate. CF in a lot of parks was 450+ feet. The history of baseball is a beautiful thing.
  7. It's a shame they stopped letting him run so early in his career too (maybe that helps long term) - but we could have seen a 40-40 season or better as he was the best base runner in baseball his rookie season.
  8. With my 5 year old son. I'll get around to the list....you'll understand why I couldn't ignore it.
  9. I was sitting in front of 2 idiots like this during the Canada Day game. I was going to do a point form list of all the stupid things they said, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I had to resist the urge to turn around and yell or punch them the whole time, which decreased my enjoyment of the game. Like you - they were suggesting players bunt all the time, often with 2 strikes...
  10. same seats you sold me for the Canada Day game????
  11. Do you move Tulo up now? or just stay the course?
  12. I'm not sure there's anything right now that makes me happier than seeing Tulo crush ball.
  13. Sure - but he has a wRC+ of 100 with RISP. It's a fact he's been WELL below his average with RISP this year. The high RBI total is a mirage.
  14. and right on que, Buck notes how many RBI's EE has and then reflects on what a GREAT season he's had. Followed by a fly out with a RISP....
  15. It looks like Happ is relying heavily on the 4 seamer today. Hopefully he's giving up on the god damn 2 seam pitch to contact ******** that's prevented him from being the BOSS he was in Pittsburgh last year.
  16. To be fair - he's right. EE's been bad with RISP this year. His RBI total is a reflection of opportunities - not good hitting....it's a prime example of why RBI's are a bad way to judge a hitter.
  17. We probably want Rasmus back I hope we want Josh Fields
  18. Because the meals come fast. It's almost like fast food at a sit down restaurant (only it tastes better)
  19. I had to leave after the 14th to catch the 6:20 train back to Barrie. My 5 year old sat and watched all 14 innings - what a beauty he is. That GO train to Barrie is f'ing sweet too - never driving or hitting the subway again!
  20. Has anyone posted record of how many pitches the ump missed today? I was at the game with a side view - so it was difficult to tell (although the fair weather fans around me - who were calling him a ref - yelled and complained all day long). I mean it became obvious he was awful, but are there any numbers out on just how bad he was yet?
  21. Swiss Chalet is pure gold if you have young kids. It's the only sit down restaurant I'll take them to.
  22. This....although I now struggle to enjoy food at any chain restaurant
  23. You'd think drainage wouldn't be an issue when you're a mile above sea level. Jesus Christ.
