  1. This is kind of cool. Adam Tulloch was drafted in the 17th round by the Dodgers. Big 6'2" lefty who pitched at WV this past year. He has really good stuff. Sits 93-94 with really good spin on his 4 seamer. Good secondary's, but has always battled his command. My wife used to babysit him and his twin brother when they were young. The family had a home in Collingwood Ontario. His Dad knew I was really into baseball so he's always ask if I could go work with him when they were back in Collingwood, so he'd come out to my team's practices (North Dufferin Baseball League) from time to time and he pitched in a couple of tournaments with us when he was like 16/17. Some may remember this story as I probably told it last year when the Jays contacted him during the draft. They wanted to sign him in the 5th round well under slot. They couldn't agree on a number so the Jays passed. His Dad recently popped by and dropped off a bunch of Adam's old gear, including a catchers mitt that my middle son simply won't take off. Pretty amazing stuff. I just spoke with him and he's pretty excited to start his career. Thought I'd share.
  2. Arizona continues to draft HS players ranked in the top 150 today. I think they've taken 3 or 4. If they can sign them all, it could be a huge draft for them.
  3. holy f*** - nevermind Dick.
  4. Commissioner Rob Manfred told reporters at the 2021 MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday that the runner on second extra innings rule and seven-inning doubleheaders are "much less likely to be a part of our permanent landscape" than other recent changes. Manfred added that those rule changes were implemented during the pandemic-shorted 2020 campaign with COVID-19 health and safety reasons in mind and are less likely to remain moving forward. It appears that an avalanche of unearned runs in extra innings and the era of unofficial no-hitters will come to an end at some point in the near future.
  5. Does this give teams more to get tentative deals in place with their picks? Arizona just took Davis Diaz in the 11th round, who's ranked 74th overall. Did the extra time allow them to work out deals so they could draft and sign this guy? That's my only take on why they would stretch this into a 3 day event. Otherwise, I completely agree.
  6. I'd love to know if the Jays went into this draft with a distinct game plan to target pitchers or not. Maybe this is obvious, but it certainly appears they did.
  7. C'mon man - for every Doc Halladay W/L record, there is a King Felix or Jacob deGrom W/L record that doesn't tell you anything about how dominant and amazing they are/were. You must be trolling.
  8. Didn't the Mets coach bean him with one pitch?
  9. I think you forget what the old format looked like. It was guys taking a pitch or two between each swing and there was no drama as you couldn't mount a comeback if you started slow. It was boring as f***. Manfred got it right to change it. The first year was in Cincy I believe and Todd Frasier came from behind won it on home soil. It was incredible to watch. I also thought they got rid of the stupid rule about waiting until the previous ball landed. The broadcast crew even spoke about how Mancini increased the pace because he knew he needed more swings to beat Alonso. The format is great - the TV production failed a bit last night...although overall I still really enjoyed it. My young boys thought it was amazing.
  10. Stephen A Smith is complete trash. Always has been. It's embarrassing they still let him on TV. What a ****.
  11. f*** - that Gare Joyce article is really good. I finished it in tears. RIP Doc. Miss you.
  12. There must be a marketing opportunity here...
  13. It appears he did...at least The Score told me that's what he was doing (although when I watched it, it was rather subtle). Now - when Altuve hit that glorious 3 run walk off bomb to win by 1 run and they ripped off his jersey at home - that was definitely in response to all the whiny Yankee players who called them out (even though they were cheating too).
  14. You're thinking of Gunnar Stahl in D2...quack, quack, quack!
  15. Damn - it was on the previous page for me, so I missed it.
  16. I agree. She can't have the kinky s*** with FTJ or Clev if they aren't into it. The fact she slept with FTJ and Clev without incident means absolutely nothing (nor does the fact that she clearly loves lots of D).
  17. Apparently we received Darlin Guzman from the Reds to complete the Hector Perez deal. 169 wRC+ in rookie ball in 2019 as an 18 year old. Hasn't played this year yet. Looks like he has some power and speed?
  18. I assume this is true even if the woman puts it in writing first?
  19. No - I'm just pointing out that you're calling out posters and getting upset simply because this type of fetish isn't something you seem to comprehend or approve of. You can believe it's disgusting all you want, but the reality is there are lots of people out there who LOVE pain. There are guys who pay women to tie them up, whip them, kick them in the balls, etc. Cock and ball torture is literally it's own fetish! There are lots of women who love spankings and stretching and nipple torture and hair pulling and being slapped. You seem to judge people who are simply suggesting it's OK for men and women to have these fetishes and fulfill them. I have an issue with that. This situation exacerbates the need to always be open and transparent about 'the line' and to establish safe words before you play. I'm not going to sit here and take any sides. Nobody here should as we don't have all the facts. There's a great possibility Bauer crossed the line, but there's also several situations where pro athletes are setup to get their money. The courts will decide what we have in this case. Enjoy another board - sorry you can't keep an open mind and acknowledge different perspectives.
  20. Maybe the catcher threw down the middle finger sign (which the 2nd base ump saw)? That would actually be pretty funny.
  21. Playoffs and regular season are two different things. This reminds me though - anyone else see Snell is averaging like 4.5 innings per start in SD?
  22. You continue to miss the reality that she may also really get off on this s*** too. For all we know, she was initiated the conversation and asked for it. Look - I'm not into it at all and I find it hard to fathom that people would enjoy that too, but who am I to judge. You seem really upset at these comments, simply because you can't fathom that some people do enjoy it. That isn't right either man. Unfortunately, there's a line in this situation. Was it crossed? was it not? None of us know that and it's not up to us to decide where that line should be drawn. Experienced BDSM partners always have safe words and such to ensure there's way to stop it immediately if someone creeps past the line. The other reality in this is that people's lines change. What sounds good and hot in their minds/fantasizes may change when they are in the heat of the moment (when suddenly the line needs to change because f*** this seemed better in my fantasizes).
  23. are you referring to the youtube broadcast? IMO, they need to start using advanced stats and weed out the old farts who love citing how good Grichuk is because of RBI's. MLB has also doing a better job lately with the Google for their MLB shorts. I think it's slowly happening. I certainly get my around baseball / highlight updates from Facebook/IG now. I also love the Jays in 30 setup. My 5 year old watches that s*** like 2-3 times every morning too.
  24. Completely agree with this. Seem like a great guy who's worked his tail off to become a legit quality player. Deserved or not, this is a great little achievement for him.
