  1. That's...that's not even what the man is saying. He's just saying show me the evidence that teams should shy away from signing this guy because of the fan/sponsor backlash that folks think will occur. If Bauer is an issue in the clubhouse - that's a completely separate issue that isn't part of this discussion. Also - the "issues" that arose in Arizona were because his coaches were dinosaurs that wanted him to make huge changes to how he pitched. Bauer was light years ahead of them. He wanted to throw the 4 seamer up in the zone before it was "the new thing" in MLB. They wanted him to throw sinker/sliders down in the zone and pitch more to contact. I think the same thing happened in Cleveland at the start as well. Thank god he wasn't a f***ing sheep that just did what they said because they were old.
  2. Why wasn't the Catholic church cancelled? Too big, powerful and rich I guess? Why is D.Watson the highest paid player in football and the face of Cleveland? Why didn't anyone boycott the Canada world junior team / Hockey Canada? It just seems to f***ing random.
  3. I know this is correct, but I still can't wrap my head around why it's true.
  4. And I thought I had a Dad Bod. Disappointing to see he hasn't really taken any further steps to get in better shape.
  5. Good catch. I could see Aranda playing that well - maybe Siri if everything went right. But Bethancourt? c'mon. Seems very likely that Lowe and Franco both hit better - Franco could be MUCH better. Looking at the Rays team page, I'm reminded of Francisco Mejia and it comforts me a bit that Moreno was the catcher we chose to trade.
  6. I think this has happened in the past has it not? I think it is more common with pitchers as teams don't want their top arms throwing high leverage innings when they should just be starting spring training. I think there are a lot of concerns about how pitchers especially build and ramp up to compete in this event prior to spring training. I can sure as s*** bet you the Rangers don't want DeGrom pitching in the WBC. I'm sure the Braves want Acuna to continue focusing on getting his knee back to 100% so he can rebound after a down year in 2022.
  7. Didn't you hear Belt tell everyone he feels better than ever - better than he did when he tore the league a new ******* in 2020 and 2021? You take your wet blanket home and dry it out sir. Let us live the fantasy that we just added a 140-155 wRC+ left handed bat to our lineup.
  8. Someone was suggesting the Bears should draft Young and trade Fields for a 1st and 3rd round pick. I think it's going to be fascinating to see what they end up doing. Can't f*** this up.
  9. Oh man - this guy is like Casey Lawrence. 35 and has pitched 57 innings in the bigs. Took 3 years off from 2016-2018. Respect.
  10. Yes I am - sorry if that wasn't clear. I think he'll simply be at one of the games - hopefully well enough to lead the team out of the tunnel in street clothes.
  11. Damar has already been released man! He's recovering at home. It's f***ing insane. I do think there's a legit chance he's at the game in some capacity and the response will be legendary. This weekend might be too early, but at some point in these playoffs.
  12. Big tipper - won't pay for an uber. Classic guy in his early 50's.
  13. It's like Term is begging for the 2022 BJMB Awards Post to open up...
  14. So your girlfriend rolls a Honda Playin' workout tapes by Fonda But Fonda ain't got a motor in the back of her Honda My anaconda don't want none Unless you've got buns, hun You can do side bends or sit-ups But please don't lose that butt Some brothers wanna play that hard role And tell you that the butt ain't gold So they toss it and leave it And I pull up quick to retrieve it So Cosmo says you're fat Well I ain't down with that! 'Cause your waist is small and your curves are kickin' And I'm thinkin' 'bout stickin' To the beanpole dames in the magazines: You ain't it, Miss Thing! Give me a sista, I can't resist her Red beans and rice didn't miss her Some knucklehead tried to diss 'Cause his girls are on my list He had game, but he chose to hit 'em And I pull up quick to get wit 'em So ladies, if the butt is round And you want a triple X throwdown Dial 1-900-MIX-A-LOT And kick them nasty thoughts Baby got back!
  15. Surely to god they'll just put both of them in the rotation this year no? I can't see them giving up Houck for Biggio. They'll just go sign Josh Harrison and Iglesias and battle for 4th place.
  16. I'm pretty sure there are new kinks in the OF walls - I believe the power alleys will be slightly smaller - but not by much. You can see that in overlays.
  17. You're not wrong. Obviously putting Bauer on a team in the bible belt would be fine. Even after the wrongdoings of the Catholic Church - people still fork over portions of their paychecks and support those sick f***s. How could someone go support an organization full of child molesters (like generations of them - where it became a cyclical issue) and then turn their nose on a team that signs a guy who wasn't even charged? I guess the answer is that people are hypocritical as f***, but c'mon now.
  18. Baltimore is f***ed - ignore that s***. When was the last time a team moved the fences back? Shorter fences creates more space for fans - so they go hand in hand. I do agree though that neutral parks are good. Yankee Stadium is stupid - but that said, it's known for it. Just like the monster in Fenway. I think baseball is better for having a unique stadium like Fenway than having 30 generic stadiums.
  19. Makes sense. Deader ball now and fans want offence. I have to think there are very few people who enjoy a 2-1 pitching/defensive battle over an 7-6 game. Don't get me wrong - fans LOVE a great defensive play, but parks that really suppress offense blow.
  20. Doesn't he have a steel plate in his ankle from some old injury from 2014 or something?
  21. Man - we have really taken advantage of international signings. That system is so f***ed up, but I'm guess I'm glad we're taking advantage of it.
  22. I think there's like an 85% chance the Bears trade down. I think the Bears could trade down twice even! Trade down to 4th with the Colts and then down to like 8th or 9th as teams overpay to move up to grab the last of the top 3 QB's. Bears have a f***ton of holes, so they need to stockpile picks and are now in a perfect position. They can use the #1 pick to fill a ton of them and build around Fields. The Texans are going to miss out on Bryce Young if they don't trade up to #1. Sucks taking the 2nd best QB at #2.
  23. Don't forget that Tapia's at bats likely go to Belt...
  24. Nick Altrock was a f***ing legend At age 41 he stepped to the plate and ripped a HOME RUN - just the 2nd of his career after having taken like 6 at bats since his age 32 season. At age 47, in his only plate appearance of the season, he ripped a triple in his first at bat since he was 41 (maybe his first PA since that HR!) At age 52, in his only plate appearance of the season - and his first since the triple mention above, he singled.
