  1. Realistically he is probably a mid rotation starter who will eat 200IP, its a good acquisition for the Red Sox but they need to add more depth to a horrible rotation.
  2. Yea, we had to use the bulk of that to load up on an MVP 6 WAR player instead (sarcasm)
  3. Anyone have that write up of the Rule 5 list? I can't for the life of me remember where it was posted.
  4. WTF is going on this year, we are regressing back to the point of having stupid GM's that are all about RBI's and HR's and Relievers being big money commodities.
  5. And that should be taken advantage of lol. Lets go expand the deal and offer up Navarro + Reyes (good high average and SB guy!!) for Owings, Miley and Marshall.
  6. (type in [tweet] the tweet code number and then [/tweet ]) minus the last space since I need to show the text.
  7. Santana sure is a big tease, watch him end up somewhere else and leave the Twins empty handed.
  8. I want me some Clippard. Only if it doesn't cost to much, the $ should keep his trade value relatively light I would think.
  9. Come on Miami, wouldn't you love a SS like Jose Reyes? Heaney for Reyes straight up? (I can dream right?)
  10. Gordon might not be a perfect player, but I wouldn't be opposed to adding him to play 2B and add some much needed speed to the lineup.
  11. One would think that it is better to be right than first.
  12. Doesn't silence and anonymity usually point to us?
  13. Realistically, Miley is a #3-4 pitcher who will eat 200 innings for a fair $ value. I would love to have that kind of depth in the rotation which will be easy to move when the guys on the farm reach the majors for full time roles.
  14. The problem is he has so much cheap control, he will be a super 2 next season but still have 5 years of club control and since he just posted a 3 WAR season, they can expect to ask for a package for at least 1 top notch Sanchez/Norris prospect + others.
  15. Sign McCarthy and keep Sanchez in the pen. Problem solved. If your going to spend $10ish million for a reliever, why not get a starter and keep the minimum wage rookie as the closer?
  16. Sign McCarthy and put Sanchez back in the pen. Much more cost effective option.
  17. He certainly knows how to take a walk.
  18. hey now, are you all calling me a Greek fat ass?
  19. If they increase the Umpires pay they should increase their accountability.
  20. Pennington + Delgado for Navarro?
  21. Best thing to do is sit and wait the Royal out. If they are throwing Holland and Infante out while saying they want a starter back it pretty much means they are going to be left sitting around until the market passes them by where they will then be forced to take scraps for them since the financial flexibility is more important to them going forward than getting a “good deal” is.
  22. Great financial flexibility so they can sit there and look at all the money they could spend if they ever choose too but won't.
  23. I wouldn't. Value is still value and you don't trade the potential for 2 top of the rotation arms for 2 years of a closer. Imagine how you would feel in a few years if you ended up dealing basically a Price + Shields in their prime for Papelbon.
  24. 2 years control of a 3 WAR reliever. Hmmmm, I would possibly part with 1 big prospect for that plus lesser depth options.
  25. I love what the White Sox have done, they have managed to trade what little farm they have and spend lots of money to improve to the 3rd best team in the AL Central behind the Tigers and Indians.
