  1. With a ton of games played on pitchers parks in the NL central and East.
  2. Hasn't he also played most of his games in fairly pitcher friendly parks too?
  3. If someone will give us a controllable mid rotation pitcher + a prospect or two for either one of Edwin or Jose, I would take it and run and look to use the money saved on making up that 2 WAR difference elsewhere.
  4. What do you all think is realistic value we could expect to get from trading Jose or Edwin? I am not sure of a good comparable in recent history other than maybe the Heyward trade.
  5. I sure hope so. It would be very prudent for the franchise to turn declining assets to significant future value pieces. Then they could go out and sign a bunch of free agents to short term deals to offset the loss of them.
  6. I would rather not litter the roster with a ton of 1B/DH types again.
  7. Updated my salary spreadsheet, figured I would post it here. http://i66.tinypic.com/11qs4ee.jpg
  8. I'll put together a collection plate to pay for the remaining $14 mil if it means adding a top of the rotation starter with control.
  9. You can say that about anyone. Fans always know best with the benefit of hindsight and get to criticize others who unlike them have to make educated guesses before the final outcome is clear.
  10. I don't know about gm but I hope Brian Parker is kept and promoted to assistant gm and remain in control of scouting. Man blends talent with upside well.
  11. Who is even available to replace him?
  12. meh. The media are vultures and are trying to make this into something its not. Anyone remember how they tried to paint Donaldson losing his arb to the Jays as some sort of contention between the two without understanding how the process typically works?
  13. It seems the overall consensus is that we are all expecting a reasonable $150 million payroll range for next year.
  14. 1.004 Years of service time, so hes pre-arb meaning he will get a 10% raise on his last years contract.
  15. American Advertisers pay far more per American viewers than anything Canadian advertisers will pay for Canadian ones. Sometimes there are limitations being 1/10th the size of a consumer market.
  16. Agreed. I might offer him a league minimum and give him a shot in the spring to win the long man job in the pen but otherwise, I am not interested in him at all.
  17. The idea of Zimmerman is very interesting to me. He could be an effective #2/3 pitcher for the next few years and he would probably not fetch beyond a 5 year term. Could be the smart play to replace Price and give the rotation a very good 1-2 punch for the foreseeable future with Stroman and Zimmerman.
  18. Imagine if they did the unthinkable thing and put us as a team to the tax threshold, all the possibilities we would have on revamping this team in the offseason.
  19. Im optimistically hoping for $160 million but realistically am thinking 145ish
  20. Given the large surge of support of the team in the final 2 months and with the massive TV audience in the playoffs. What do you feel Rogers will be willing to budget for the payroll next year realistically?
  21. In my dream world. I sign Gordon and Upton (who won't command uber years) and move Jose to 1B so we have a deep lineup 1-9 and then use the rest of the budget on pitching, if Stroman, Hutchison and Osuna are the main 3 in the rotation, you can get by with some cheap innings eaters in the 4th and 5th spot as long as we have a good pen.
  22. Yea you are right, its not like AA ever circles back and tries to make a new deal to get the player he wants.
  23. It won't matter when Saunders is non tendered and Pompey is dealt for Carrasco.
  24. That is a $160 million payroll territory right there.
  25. As much as I would love to add one to pair with Stroman at the top of the rotation. I fear we don't lime up to well with what they are looking for.
