  1. Goins filled in admirably for Tulowitzki and the Blue Jays gained ground during that time.
  2. Interesting comments. Goins gets on base 3 times and scores 2 runs and all the comments are about his error.
  3. The Blue Jays continue to be competitive even with their scrubs, Coghlan, Goins, Maile, Carrera and Bolsinger.
  4. Ricky Romero is still around, heading to the Mexican league https://jaysjournal.com/2017/05/30/blue-jays-ricky-romero-signs-mexican-league-team/. It is too bad that he never reached his full potential.
  5. What is your point (I can't read your mind)? Do you think that Donaldson should be in the number 2 spot after sitting out for 6 weeks? Do you think that 2 games in A ball means that Donaldson is back to major league form?
  6. If that insults Donaldson then it is time for him to go. This team with all its regulars got off to a 1-9 start. It was with several so-called scrubs that the team started winning. A hot Devon Travis, Justin Smoak and now Jose Bautista had a lot to do with that, so why would someone want to put a rusty Donaldson in the #2 spot over Travis or Bautista. The team can't afford to sink in the standings again. Gibbons was right in resting Donaldson and Tulowitzki on Saturday for their own protection, hopefully he will be sensible and ease them back into the batting order.
  7. I am glad that you know that Donaldson will show no ill effects from being off for 6 weeks.
  8. I wouldn't mind Travis hitting 2nd but I would put Donaldson at 6 or 7 until it is evident that he is at big league form, and hopefully that would only be a few games.
  9. Donaldson hasn't played much this year. He is probably at early spring season form at the best. I am worried that he will be mediocre for a month like Bautista was.
  10. I agree, except Travis should be batting above Donaldson also.
  11. It will take time for Tulowitzki to be a major league hitter again.
  12. I hope it won't take too long for Tulowitzki and Donaldson to get their timing back. The lineup looks good with them back but I don't want to see the Blue Jays sink in the standings while they get back to big league form.
  13. No, I was wrong. Maybe the secret is to only use him every 5 or 6 games.
  14. Grilli coming in to throw gasoline onto the fire.
  15. Maile has been playing better than Martin has played today. How many pitches have gotten past Martin today.
  16. It would be good to have Steve Pearce back, since he was starting to look good at the plate. Is there any news on when he might be back?
  17. Yes, the Astros. Senility is catching up with me. In any case, the Orioles lost.
  18. The Baltimore Orioles are falling like a stone in the standings. They are on the verge of losing their 6th in a row to the Twins. The Blue Jays will probably be only 3 games behind Baltimore after tonight; who would of thought that was possible, a month ago.
  19. Kendrys Morales is so slow getting to 1st base and so easy to double up that it is difficult for me to get excited about his play. It is either Kendrys hits a double or home run, or count on him being out in a double play.
  20. post deleted I thought that I was commenting on one of Jonn's post.
  21. Considering how many Blue Jay players have been injured taking mighty swings, maybe it is time to cut down on their swings; they only have to hit it out of the ball park, not hit it 500 feet. If Goins can hit 4 home runs with his swing, then a gargantuan swing is not required.
  22. How did this happen, didn't he play the whole game last night? All these injuries are incredible.
  23. Jose Bautista was good at 3rd and I give credit to Gibbons for finding a way to get Alford into the game. Alford is an exciting player with the best speed on the base-paths on the Blue Jays; it was good to see him get a double. Hopefully the Blue Jays will continue moving towards a 0.500 record, it would be great to see them get to 30-30 wins/losses although somewhat optimistic.
