  1. I wonder if Tulowitzki is becoming disinterested with baseball. At this point he might just be doing it for the big contract and is having a tough time getting motivated day after day.
  2. My prediction is that Travis will be back and on the field by Sunday and Goins sent down. Goins got his chance and blew it. (However it is just baseball) For Goins he needs to go to Buffalo and work on his swing. Or get a 9 to 5 job somewhere, which isn't bad either.
  3. Blue Jays win but can they do it again tomorrow.
  4. I wonder if this is Goins last game on the field with the Blue Jays for a while. He might already know that he is going down to Buffalo on the weekend (just my guess). That might be called a hit but it was an error on Goins.
  5. Why did Martin let that go. Blue Jays have too many strike 3's looking. Give credit to Paredes. He swung at anything close.
  6. Nice at bat by Paredes. Nice bat control.
  7. Paredes has a nice swing and decent eye at the plate.
  8. Can't believe how bad the Blue Jays luck is.
  9. I hope Paredes won't be at 2nd base in the bottom of the 9th. Either Barney or Goins needs to be in there for their defense whether the Blue Jays score or not.
  10. My thoughts also. It is too bad that he couldn't accept a role of getting on base anyway he could. However, I also noticed that he was trying to get walks but as a mediocre hitter the umps weren't giving him ball 4 when it was just off the plate. I think Bautista and Encarnacion would have complained at many strike calls.
  11. Jimmy Paredes sounds like a superstar. I wonder why Baltimore gave up on him?
  12. The two season don't seem very similar. After 42 games in 2015 the Blue Jays had scored 215 runs and had 203 scored against them. This year after 42 games the Blues Jays have scored 168 and have 173 runs scored against them. The Blue Jays were scoring more runs last season but blowing games because of poor starting pitching and bull pen. For some reason this 2016 team has a tough time scoring runs and it seems like Encarnacion is just swinging for stats and doesn't care about wins (he doesn't want to walk, so he will swing at ball 4 instead). Martin has just been terrible. I was a big Encarnacion fan last year, at this point I just want to see him gone as soon as possible. Goins has been terrible and needs to be sent to AAA (or retire from baseball). Martin may never be a good hitter again. Tulowitzki seems lost.
  13. They want everyone to understand why he needs to be sent down to AAA just in case some fans still support him.
  14. This is painful to watch so I am following it on MLB gameday. I can see the score and the plays are described but I don't have to see all the gory scenes.
  15. It made me laugh. Laughter is the best medicine so far this season.
  16. The difference between taking PED's and not taking them in a player's own words (Lenny Dykstra) - http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2640917-lenny-dykstra-comments-on-hgh-use-during-mlb-career?utm_source=cnn.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=editorial
  17. I have lost faith in Ryan Goins' ability to correct his batting style. I thought Ryan Goins had turned a corner in the second half of 2015, but he has gone back to his old looping bat swing instead of swinging on a plane through the pitch (the way that the good hitters do). It looks like he is trying to golf most pitches and it results in weak popups instead of line drives. I am no longer a Ryan Goins apologist, he can't correct his swing so it is time for him to consider getting out of baseball and doing something useful with his life. I am now rooting for Darwin Barney and Devon Travis.
  18. I need to overcome this addiction to watching losing baseball teams, first the Expos and now the Blue Jays. I imagine that it must be like a gambling addiction, always expecting things to turn around. I guess I am lucky to only be addicted to poor Canadian baseball teams.
  19. What is going well with this team, so many good starts have been ruined by an unreliable bullpen. The teams that do well seem to have average starting pitching (average MLB pitching is still good pitching) and strong bullpens.
  20. I haven't been impressed with Martin's defense - passed balls, poor throws to 2nd on steal attempts, and I wonder if part of the poor pitching performances from the bullpen is because of poor pitch selection by Martin. Whatever is the problem, I don't see things getting much better. I think the best the Blue Jays will do this year is a .500 season.
  21. I had a bad feeling about the team when Sanchez was made a starting pitcher instead of being in the bullpen like last year. This team needed a strong bullpen but instead they have more than 5 potential starters and a weak bullpen.
  22. It seems more likely that Bautista and Encarnacion saw how much Martin, Tulowitzki and Price were making and decided they should also have big contracts. It is probably human nature but no good for team morale. Many large companies have rules to discourage employees from disclosing pay rates for this very reason but that isn't possible in the MLB.
  23. I wonder how much Bautista can demand on the free agent market if he has a mediocre season and the Blue Jays finish last? All the games where Bautista and Encarnacion were swinging for the fences and individual stats might not work out so well for them.
  24. That fight on Sunday really changed the Blue Jays. Now their big hitter Bautista is a laughing stock and there is no one hitting well enough to strike fear into the opposition. This is terrible baseball to watch. I think the Blue Jays are done for the season. It will be a long wait for the NFL season to start.
