  1. Edwin and Bautista are sulking about not getting their big contracts, and they probably won't considering how the season is going.
  2. If the Blue Jays win then Barney should be playing.
  3. My hopes are coming true - to see miserable Cruz lose and then see the evil Trump lose to Hillary.
  4. Basketball is a very boring game but it has to be better than this. Luckily with PVR, I can watch the Blue Jays, Raptors and Islanders concurrently.
  5. Good luck in your efforts to overcome this debilitating addiction to the Blue Jays.
  6. Blue Jays have lots of luck and it is all bad.
  7. Barney looks like a hitter, unfortunately he had Goins result.
  8. Goins is on the bench for the next week. Nice AB by Barney.
  9. Darn right. He probably gave Tulowitzki fielding advice today. Re: this is all Goins fault.
  10. The whole team is batting like Goins. Oh well, there is always next year.
  11. Good old reliable Darney at 2nd base, or whatever his name is.
  12. Even with Goins on the bench the Blue Jays still can't win.
  13. Although I have been a Goins fans, the MLB is just men playing a kids game. If Goins can't get things going then maybe he can just retire from baseball instead of wasting his time in the minors. Goins is still young enough that he could go back to university and do something useful with his life, like becoming a doctor for example. At one point watching baseball seemed like a good way to kill some time, but the older I get the more pointless it seems.
  14. I think Tulowitzki will come around. I am more worried about Russell Martin. PVR'ing the game is great. I can watch baseball, Stanley Cup playoff game and a movie all within a 3 hour period.
  15. Hopefully the success against the Rays will continue against the Rangers. They will have to get several runs Monday night with Dickey pitching.
  16. Thank you Tulowitzki. And thank you Darwin Barney. Another hit for Pillar. I think he should stay in the number 6 spot. If Goins doesn't start hitting soon I can see him in AAA this season, especially if Barney keeps hitting.
  17. Maybe the Blue Jays will start to turn things around today. I think Cecil has turned a corner in spite of yesterday's bad luck he has a fast ball of 93 - 94 mph and great off-speed stuff. If Martin doesn't start hitting then the Blue Jays could be at .500 for most of the season. Hopefully he can get a couple of hits today.
  18. It is shocking to see how little minor league players make. I figured that a good AAA player would make in the $50,000 - $100,000 per season range, however, the typical AAA pay is $2,150 a month - http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1957838-mlb-must-finally-answer-for-exploitation-in-the-minor-leagues Does anyone know if say a player like Ryan Goins is sent down to AAA does he immediately go from the $500,000 MLB minimum to the typical AAA pay? I know some such as Kawasaki had guaranteed salaries whether they were in AAA or the MLB, but this would be for experienced MLB players.
  19. Maybe, but because of Smoak's lazy play on the dribbler it resulted in a man on 3rd and 2nd with none out, which is almost an impossible situation to get out off in the bottom of the 9th in a tie game. In my opinion, there is no way that Donaldson, Tulowitzki or Goins would have played the ground ball that way.
  20. The ball bounced about 4 times before Smoak picked it up while Smoak laid back instead of coming in a step. The baserunner out ran Cecil, which likely isn't that difficult for a fast baserunner against a left-handed pitcher whose momentum will be towards the 3rd baseline (as Buck Martinez pointed out).
  21. Cecil had some bad luck today. The first runner should have been out; that was all Smoak's fault, just a very lazy play. There are many outfielders that would have caught Kiermaier's flyball; with some good defense behind him, Cecil could easily have had the first two hitters out.
  22. Martin has struck out in 46.3% of plate appearances this season and has looked very bad while doing it - http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=4616&position=C As someone with back pain, Martin looks very stiff to me and that could explain his hitting problems. It wouldn't surprise me if Martin is soon put on the DL.
  23. This Blue Jays team is looking like the April to July 2015 team; if the score is tied or if they are ahead by 1 to 2 runs after 6 innings then I expect a bad outcome.
