  1. How long will this continue. The Blue Jays have no confidence and they just seem like a bunch of individuals thrown together and pretending to be a team. There is no soul to this team, almost like a team of zombies with vacant stares.
  2. I think Bautista is up there thinking "I just got punched in the face and millions of people are happy about it"
  3. I think this is the most important game of the year so far. It is no longer early in the season; the Blue Jays are entering the 2nd quarter of the season. Yesterday, the Blue Jays looked like they had been whipped before they even started playing. If they can't get their confidence back tonight then it might be a long frustrating season.
  4. I highly recommend the first Mad Max movie, although there are some disturbing scenes in it. If you like it then you would probably also enjoy Mad Max 2. I have seen Mad Max 3 but don't remember much of it.
  5. Finally I have forgotten about this terrible game and can go to sleep.
  6. Thanks. I didn't watch it but I saw all of the Mad Max ones with Mel Gibson.
  7. What movie was that?
  8. I actually saw Airport on TV a few years after it came out in 1970 (I would have seen it around mid-1970's). I was very impressed when I saw it, especially since that was before movie channels, VHS, DVD and PVR, so if you fell asleep then you didn't get a second chance (they didn't repeat movies or sitcoms very often). I saw it again about 10 - 15 years ago and still enjoyed it immensely. I have to say that Airport was much better than Airport '77.
  9. My guess is that if the Blue Jays are playing below .500 at the end of June, Gibbons will be gone. This Blue Jays team seems to have no soul.
  10. Probably won't happen, but I would like to see Montreal get an NL expansion team. I still don't like the designated hitter rule in the AL. I like your spelling of the Nats
  11. My wife and I watched the final half of Airport '77 on Netflix, what a hoot. It had a bunch of actors that are never seen anymore like George Kennedy and Jack Lemmon (unfortunately they have moved on). The film makers were actually able to make a movie about passengers trapped underwater in a 747 seem somewhat realistic. Edited: It is actually called Airport '77.
  12. I remember that season (I think it was 1979 - 1980). The Expos and Pirates fought it out for the NL East pennant. Another heartbreaking season for Expos fans.
  13. In 1994 the Expos had a team that could have won the pennant and possibly the World Series. It is too bad that Olympic Stadium and the cancelled 1994 season killed the Expos (although it took 10 years to finally happen). Otherwise I would still be an Expos fan living in the GTA.
  14. Crosby just won it. You must be Canadian.
  15. I actually have a hard time disliking the Orioles except when they are winning.
  16. I have almost forgotten how badly the Blue Jays lost tonight. But I have followed the Expos and Blue Jays for so many years that I have gotten used to it. It seems like old times.
  17. How many people normally view this Blue Jays forum during peak hours (including people who don't post)?
  18. Has the run down area to the west (?) of Camden Yards been grentrified yet. I think Babe Ruth grew up in that neighborhood(?)
  19. How many members on this forum? Serious question.
  20. Does anyone post on that forum? I have been to Camden Yards and it is a feast for the eyes. I even liked Baltimore although it was 15 years ago (or so). I saw a game the final weekend that Cal Ripken played.
  21. Stroman will have to pitch like an ace tomorrow. Another deflating loss tomorrow and this could be a long, frustrating season.
  22. Things were looking up Saturday night when the Blue Jays tied the game in the 9th and Dickey got the shutout the night before.
  23. How about Goins. He has a strong accurate arm.
