  1. Excellent game. The last 3 hits were a treat to watch, all to the opposite field. It was good to see Travis drive in the final run with 2 outs, something that the Blue Jays haven't done much of this year.
  2. First real hot day (over 30°C) in New York and the Blue Jays bats came alive. Maybe the warm air will get rid of Martin's aches and pains, and the ball carries better in hot humid air which is good for a home run hitting team like the Blue Jays.
  3. Happy that Goins got a hit but why hasn't he been doing it all season. Line drives instead of ground balls.
  4. At least there are no longer any misconceptions about the Blue Jays being the dominant team in the AL East. I think if they can go 6 - 5 in the next 11 games they will be doing very well and will be within striking distance of one of the wild card spots. Once they get Devon Travis back and if he hits well, and Martin starts hitting well then maybe they can get a few games over .500 by the All Star break. Then if Edwin, Donaldson and Bautista have a good last 2 months of the season the Blue Jays might get into the playoffs from a wild card spot. (Unfortunately they might be fighting the Yankees, Orioles, Red Sox or Rays for those two wild card spots) There are a lot of if's and things don't really look good right now, but who knows ... It's not over until it's over.
  5. At this point 6 - 6 over the next 12 looks good. That will keep them close to .500.
  6. I don't think that Storen is it intentionally underperforming but his poor results aren't helping his confidence.
  7. Absolutely. This is where the season starts to get interesting.
  8. I heard talk on AM 590 (The Fan) about Sanchez moving to the bullpen possibly as soon as June; apparently Sanchez is on an innings limit for the season as a starter. I think this would be a game changer for the Blue Jays - then they would have a dominate bullpen with Biagini, Sanchez and Osuna. If Cecil returns to the form he showed in the 2nd half of 2015 then the Blue Jays would be a legitimate contender. The Blue Jays have Floyd and Chavez to take over Sanchez's spot. It will be a downgrade at Sanchez's starting pitching position, but with a strong bullpen that spot only needs to get them to the 5th or 6th inning.
  9. The Yankees have won 5 straight and have moved ahead of the Blue Jays in the standings. The Blue Jays will need to get good offense and good pitching in the series that starts tomorrow in New York, otherwise we will be watching the Yankees moving back into contention and the Blue Jays solidifying their current spot in the AL East basement. (luckily the Blue Jays are also only 1 game out of 3rd place in the division)
  10. What ever the reason for Drew Storen being ineffective, if the Blue Jays can trade him to free up a roster spot and recover some of his salary for 2016, they should do it. The Blue Jays found Biagini, so there is always a chance of finding another useful pitcher if a roster spot is open.
  11. I am not sure what this means, but Storen is not helping the team and if the Blue Jays are trying to trade him then they know that he isn't good for the team now and probably won't be going forward.
  12. Someone said Storen wasn't happy to be traded to Toronto; I am not sure if this is true or not, but in any case having an unmotivated player taking up a roster spot is bad for the team. The value is having him off the team, recovering some of his contract, and freeing up a spot for a pitcher in the Blue Jays organization that will be grateful to be on the team.
  13. Yes, Donaldson does have a very good point. I think the Blue Jays should send a video clip to the MLB office and ask for a suspension to the Twins pitcher. This is the result to Stanton when he was hit by a pitch a couple of years ago: ( from the Miami Herald - http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/mlb/miami-marlins/article2147959.html ) http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/mlb/miami-marlins/pbm1nm/picture2147958/ALTERNATES/FREE_960/stanton.JPG
  14. Or a better example, a rant is something often posted by a forum member named Boxcar who actually supports Donald Trump.
  15. I wouldn't call it a rant. Donaldson usually seems very calm and reasonable in the positions that he takes. Donaldson is absolutely right regarding his comments. This shouldn't be part of baseball. A rant is something that I would expect from Donald Trump.
  16. That's what the Blue Jays need from the bullpen. Blue Jays still have life.
  17. Nice hitting by Saunders. The Blue Jays need to start getting runners home in these situations.
  18. It is good that Tulowitzki has decided to be more aggressive.
  19. It seems like the Blue Jays might have a pulse after all.
  20. The Blue Jays should get a bit more offense with Barney at 2nd base, and Paredes can pinch hit, with Goins in defensively if Paredes pinch hits for Barney.
