  1. What exactly are people gloating about? Is it the 5 walks in 7 innings or 7 whiffs in a 108 pitches(6.4% swStr rate)? This was the typical Sanchez except things went the right way for him at the right time. He could do the same thing again next start and surrender 7 runs.
  2. what are you saying sorry for, Castro is barely ready for A+ ball starts, this is another mistake.
  3. I only looked at guys without a ton of ML experience and where there's uncertainty about how good they are on defence. I think we can agree that it this point guys like Bautista and Reyes are what they are.
  4. obviously the usual SSS caveats apply and with fielding metrics even more so UZR/150 ranks among qualifying players at their positions Devon Travis 16/24 Dalton Pompey 4/26 Kevin Pillar 5/17 The Jays as a unit are 9th in baseball and no should be surprised at number 1 and 30. the Royals and the Padres. http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=lf&stats=fld&lg=all&qual=y&type=1&season=2015&month=0&season1=2015&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=24,d
  5. horrible thread, also its really not cool to see Toronto fans take shots at Baltimore as a city. I don't know why we have to go there, it makes us look trashy and classless.
  6. More whining http://www.carrollcountytimes.com/sports/bal-orioles-alejandro-de-aza-unhappy-with-how-torontos-josh-donaldson-blocked-third-base-20150423,0,4120424.story
  7. anyone have a stream? the usual suspects aren't showing the Jays game for some reason
  8. If you're not a bonus baby the average minor leaguer lives in poverty or near poverty, i thought that was well known.
  9. but is it ever early for this forum to enjoy some schadenfreude or hyperventilate over having traded a superstar?
  10. i'm surprised no one's posted Franklin Barreto's progress, 37wRC+, atlhough to be fair the A's skipped him past A ball and his peripherals aren't that much worse than last years. Slightly fewer walks and slightly less power, similar strikeout rates, he's having BABIP problems.
  11. I don't like the Jays sitting Jansen every third day, how about DH'ing him on the days he's not catching. I don't think the Jays understand how good he is.
  12. wow, absolute monster night with JFas' picks, his steamer lineup could be among the top scorers. Too bad i don't play tournaments, hope some of you and JFas himself made some big money in them
  13. Pompey has 3 homeruns and an iso over .200 in 70 big league PA's, those numbers tend to stabilize pretty quickly so keep an eye on them. His power might be developing like some people were predicting.
  14. The blowout in the Jays game is hurting us a little, Reyes and Longoria taken out in the 5th inning
  15. i'm surprised your model likes Anderson that much even after adjusting his projections to reflect his starter role. His stuff looked pretty mediocre last start
  16. Rockies in, JFas do you know when you'll run the program again?
  17. theoretically smaller player pool will mean higher variance but there shouldn't be a difference in accuracy.
  18. hmm, $3000 left on the table for ZiPS and FGDC, replaced Taylor and Victorino with Trout
  19. Pretty good night, ZiPS and FGDC cashed easily. Most of my Steamer lineups cashed but some of them ended up just short So sort of like a 2.5-.5 night
  20. Overall, following JFas' picks i'm up a little, ~7-8% of bankroll
  21. 2-1 day Steamer 28 83/100 37.5 ZiPS 39.5 44/100 37.5 FGDC 39.25 45/100 37.5 hey JFas, can you post the link to your form again and ill fill it out

Reddick FGDC S. Kazmir OAK@HOU $8,800 CS. Vogt OAK@HOU $2,600 1BI. Davis OAK@HOU $2,800 2BA. Guerrero SEA@LOS $2,400 3BB. Lawrie OAK@HOU $2,700 SSA. Cabrera TAM@TOR $2,700 OFS. Souza TAM@TOR $3,300 OFM. Trout LAA@TEX $5,000 OFJ. Bautista
  23. and catcher too, i'm actually implementing this. I'm not smart enough to do it in an elegant way but it'll suppress the stolen bases a little bit when there's a battery like Martin/Buerhle .
  24. thanks, guess ZiPS and FGDC still have the 4 player problem huh. Switched out Lawrie for Lamb on ZIPS, probably not the most optimal but its the only way to keep the other picks intact.
  25. JFas, can you run your program one more time, all the lineups for the evening games just got in
