  1. Well, its not like we're the Dodgers. The unwritten rule among front offices (which dicks like Angelos don't follow anyway) is that you don't get in the way of promotions, a shift from Cleveland to Toronto with the same job title strictly speaking is not a promotion.
  2. Didn't "Billy Beane" actually go to Cleveland to negotiate a trade with Shapiro where he meets "Peter Brand"? I know there was the phone call scene too
  3. Shapiro is the President of the Indians, Antonetti is the GM, so its not a promotion. Its a lateral move but i can't seem to find any updated details on his contracts, he might be available on the open market next year.

  5. Bandwagon fans make money for the team, i don't see how "true" fans should do anything but welcome them. Rogers needs to be convinced of the market potential in order to move us into the upper echelon when it comes to payroll. And its nice seeing Blue Jays jerseys and shirts everyone in the city. I walked past the Jays shop yesterday at the Eaton Centre and it was packed, lots of kids there with their parents, and a lot of young fans 18-30 buying s***.
  6. Indians tie it up 1-1!!!! runners on 1st and 3rd, 1 out!
  7. runners on first and second for the Indians, nobody out
  8. CC gets out a trouble, Yankees still lead 1-0
  9. Yankees up 1-0 with a McCann homer
  10. runner on 2nd, 1 out for the Indians
  11. lol buck, that barely got to the warning track
  12. They did get out of the way, Texiera had all the room he needed to make the play, the fans weren't anyone near him
  13. Texiera is a douche and a half, no one was anyone near him, he just dropped the ball
  14. running up pitch count doesn't mean anything in this era of baseball, especially a guy like Nova who'll probably be the worst pitcher you face all day
  15. lol, Pillar lays off a good pitch for once and they rung him up
  16. works fine for me, and i have atleast 2 games on at the same time, sometimes 4
  17. The AL Wildcard game is on ESPN
  18. completely wrong. Buerhle's defence and his historically unparalleled skill at controlling the running game accounts for the difference between FIP and ERA that he consistently puts up. Managing contact is a myth, Mark Buerhle is sure as hell not proof of that.
  19. Morrow had years where he outperformed his peripherals, i don't know why people continue to cite him as evidence that DIPS doesn't work.
  20. He's horrible at holding runners on, that accounts for soem of the difference between his FIP and ERA. He also might be having problems pitching from the stretch and some of its is just good ole' bad luck.
  21. Shields will cost 20 million a year for his age 34-36 seasons. Conservatively speaking, Price and probably Cueto will cost 25+ million a year from ages 34-36 and even past 36, AND they require a way bigger upfront commitment. These are not similar scenarios at all.
  22. I'm not sure people around the league think Shields is nothing but a bad contract, 20 million AAV for only 3 years is not a lot of money for a guy like Shields.
  23. Cueto will cost 220 million, Price probably 240 million, Shields is owed 64 million prorated. Big difference.
  24. You're only exposed to 2 past 35 seasons and it probably won't be that bad. He might not be a #2 guy at that point but he'll probably still be a solid #4 who eats up innings, like Buerhle, that alone is worth the contract let alone the surplus value he can give you this year and the next.
