  1. The rake is insane on those bets, i don't know how people can make a profit with them
  2. I'm a broken record but let's call up Pompey. Put EE at first and rotate Saunders and Bautista at DH. Ideally Bautista would be playing first but he'll throw a fit
  3. Smoakabello now 2-23 with 4 walks and no extra base hits , useless bums. Pillar, Tulo and Russ might be cold but they're atleast reliable contributors on defend
  4. Cecil needs to throw that changeup more
  5. Was just gonna post that, Shapiro doesn't seem to have cared for Brooks' interaction with the fans. He seems pretty anal when it comes to enforcing the corporate hierarchical structure.
  6. lol, is that the most PR'y statement ever?
  7. he's not allowed to walk anyone now? That was his first walk of the season, the fact that it was a 4 pitch walk isn't that important.
  8. There's nothing concerning velocity wise and he's missing bats, looks like poor BABIP luck.
  9. Well by that definition, anyone who is not an MLB regular already should not be given a chance because they haven't "proven anything". And its not like Pompey failed miserably or anything, his 88 MLB wRC+ over 150 PA's is identical to Pillar's career 87 wRC+. Steamer projects him to be a below average bat (92 wRC+) but there's reasons to believe he'll be a positive contributor with his defence, more than two useless f***s we have right now taking up 2 roster spots and between them don't have a single skill that we can consistently rely on.
  10. The steamer projection for Pompey is 92 wRC+, i'll take that and the defensive upgrade over Smoakebello
  11. amen, the defence in the outfield improves dramatically and Pompey is probably not significantly worse as a hitter than Smoak/Colabello.
  12. Goins walk rate surge last year gave me some hope, when he's drawing walks like that he's a decent player.
  13. The pen is fine, Cecil is a rock and Chavez is very good against righties. The pitching on a whole has been good. The problem has been regression to the mean from Pillar, Goins and Collabello, we got a lot of offence from those guys last year and they've been nothing but blackholes so far. And to add to that Tulo and Martin are ice cold right now.
  14. Smoak/Colabello have gone 2-25 with 3 walks, no extra base hits. Its not like either of them have long histories of being good hitters, Pompey who has done nothing but mash since being sent down needs to be playing ahead of these bums.
  15. call him up, let him play the outfield while Bautista/Saunders DH with EE at 1B. I'm not convinced he's a worse hitters than Smoakebello and we'll add some defence.
  16. I did(and am watching) watch the game and formed an opinion, apparently different from yours.
  17. 3 walks and lots of GB's against a good lefty heavy lineup, you can live with those kinds of starts
  18. That 2 seamer trying to catch the inside corner is teh riskiest pitch a RHP can throw to a LHB, not a great selection on a night when Sanchez doesn't have perfect command. Should have been a CB or a CU
  19. perfect slide from Pillar
  20. That'll eventually get him in trouble with lefties, you need a breaking ball that moves away from them. In addition to more changeups i also want to see more 4 seamers against lefties
  21. The only thing that i can say for sure is Sanchez appears to have improved his fastball. There's still a lot of question marks, neither the curveball nor the changeup is a consistent swing and a miss pitch nor does he have the command to throw them for called strikes.
  22. Even the new and improved Sanchez will theoretically struggle against lefties because of his reliance on the 2 seamer and curveball. The walks are forgivable given he's facing only 2 natural RHB and the Yankee lineup in general is pretty good. He needs better command of the changeup to neutralize lefties a little bit more but if he's abandoned the 4 seamer completely he'll always have .significant platoon splits
  23. Sanchez lost his command in the 2nd inning but seems to have found his release point again, very impressive
  24. could have conservatively added another 10-15 pitches to Tanaka's pitch count if Colabello held off there
  25. would love to find out the route efficiency on that play, looked terrible to the naked eye
