The more I think about it the more I would just leave the lineup. I don't think anyone can argue that we have a good enough lineup already yeah its maybe too RHB heavy but its good enough to pound most righty pitchers as well.
Focus should be on the acquisition of pitching
Nobody is going to trade anything of any significance for EE. He only plays in AL and a lot if those spots are taken. Assuming we don't want to trade him to AL East that only leaves about 10 teams that may show interest if they dont have anyone at DH. He certainly won't bring in pitching help that's for sure.
What could save ten mil. Here's the real question. Next year would you rather have EE and Dickey or would you rather have Price
If you look at the window to win a championship the two coming years are the best odds. Price at the front of the rotation along with a healthy Stroman will definitely put us in the driver's seat in the ALEast
Yeah Price could turn mediocre to worse in a few years but at that point the franchise will be in a full rebuild anyways.
I think the best play is to make the QO and take the pick when he declines. I would also decline the option on good old RA.
Sign Price and put both Osuna and Sanchez in the rotation and go heavy on the relievers
Lineup is too 1-dimensional. When they score they score them in bunches, but when they are shut down, they dont have any way of getting men on base and generating a run. You need a fully balanced lineup
Please did you see some of the crowd in KC. Compared to the gargoyles he was sitting with, He looked like Brad Pitt. Trust me, that guy is getting the first pick when it comes time for him to marry one of his cousins,
Those riggings are usually done by players, as an umpire or a ref alone cannot change the outcome of the game with enough assurity to be relied upon.
Pro athletes in North America are paid to such a high degree that it would be of no benefit to them to rig sports games, unless its for other reasons like covering up an affair.
