  1. Jays and Vladdy Groundbollo will make the playoffs just hopefully as the last WC so as to avoid the Rays. The latter are like this team’s Kryponite, especially on the road. I smell a sweep here. I like our chances better against Guardians.
  2. Jays desperately need LH bats in the lineup. Trading Barger would be as dumb as trading Max Castillo at the deadline, which did happen, so you never know.
  3. Fatty could consider hitting something other than a ground ball or striking out.
  4. I kind of agree with this post. No reason to spend on a 1st baseman that struggles to hit balls out of the infield and that hits a league leading GIDP. Conversely, Vlad does seem like a good teammate (puts team first). 10/200 with incentives seems better
  5. Quality left handed bats would make a diffetence
  6. It needs a few quality LH batters, that and a 1st baseman that can hit balls out of the infield.
  7. Looks like Fatty is getting much closer now.
  8. Should just save the bullpen for tomorrow’s game, which has greater importance in the WC standings.
  9. I am not sure of that. The LA problem is on going now for 4 years. ItÂ’s more likely due to a mechanical swing flaw. Whether this can be fixed by coaching or not (so far no, but long term probably yes), the Jays should be wary of handing out huge dollars for a 1st baseman with such a problem. Vlad is a good teammate but IÂ’d still be concerned. Mashing 1st basemans are also easy to replace via FA.
  10. Also very stupid and you need to pitch according to to the defence. If you shift, pitches should be inside to the leftie. I’d walk the batter here to load the bases.
  11. Yes very dumb
  12. To make matters worse, Merrifield bats right which is not what this unbalanced team needed at the deadline. Can’t believe Atkins signed this guy and gave up Max Castillo.
  13. It’s most certainly true. Sliders low and away are this team’s kryponite. Batting coach needs to be fired and some left handed balance added.
  14. Low and away sliders are like death to this dreadful offence. Atkins should have fired the hitting coach along with Charlie Montoya. Atkins should have fired himself for building an offence without a single impactful left handed bat.
  15. I’ve been saying this for months. All the st bats look limp and uncompetitive.
  16. It’s going to happen no doubt. I’d start by firing the batting coach.
  17. Too many right handed hitters, low and away sliders are kryptonite to this wretched offense
  18. It’s a wretched offence which better turn it around and soon
  19. The way they are currently playing teaching 80 wins will be a challenge. Baltimore is a good team with starting pitching that knows how to dominate Toronto’s right handed lineup. Low and away, low and away all day. Hope I’m wrong.
  20. Jays losing ground in WC race. My guess outside looking in by Tuesday or Wednesday next week.
  21. Jays haven’t held a lead at home in this home stand (through almost 5 games) which is particularly pathetic.
  22. Never mind making the WC round, finishing over .500 will be hard enough with the difficult schedule in September.
  23. Jays to finish over .500 by year end : Yes or No ? I’m going with no and forget a WC series.
  24. Jays haven’t held a lead since Thursday.
  25. A better explanation might be that the individuals are just not that good (ie Vlad). Management could have replaced the Jays with the Bisons and obtained a better result.
