  1. Difference is that Biggio provides some defensive and base running value. Fatty provides neither of these and can’t hit either. He’s pretty much a hindrance to the team and himself. He needs to fix his mechanical issues, flatten his swing path, whatever it takes or get the f*** out. Minor league games might help rebuild his confidence.
  2. Fatty hits a HR once every 6 to 7 games. Still, its bad production for a 1B/DH type. What kind of mechanical adjustment is needed to increase launch angle ?
  3. It’s good to see Fatty hitting lower in the order. Less ground balls as outs is always positive.
  4. Why is Fatty hitting ahead of Gurriel ?
  5. Thank goodness the Jays didn’t commit big money to Fatty as some were suggesting. Fatty can’t even get around or pull standard MLB fastballs.
  6. I hope our first baseman can learn to hit like one; or at the very least start hitting line drives or fly balls. The 60 percent ground ball rate is very bad and unfortunately appears sustainable.
  7. Fatty is really irritating with his obnoxious immature celebration of a single off the wall ? The coaching staff should be berating him for that ********.
  8. Agreed. And so far through one full season of at bats Fatty appears to be replacement level or even less considering his defensive value. I really want him to get better and succeed. But at this rate the Jays are better served keeping Tellez at first and signing a competent DH bat. Fatty can work out his bat path problems elsewhere. Alternatively Fatty can lose 50 pounds and move over to third base.
  9. No big loss to the team if Fatty goes on the IL. What’s his WAR anyway ?
  10. Vladdy Fatty is awful at everything
  11. Unfortunately Jays have too many DH only types with solid bat. Vlad is another, oh wait Vlad is poor in both aspects so never mind. Jays can use Tellez at 1st, Hernandez at DH. And send Fatty down until his launch angle is at least league average.
  12. Is Vlad making any progress with respect to launch angle at least ? He might be the worst 1st baseman in franchise history . Isn’t this a power position ?
  13. Yes, I agree. Vlad has to be the biggest bust in MLB history. Can’t hit, cant field. Thank goodness Shatkins didn’t offer a long term deal.
  14. Fatty Guerrero now with the lowest OPS on the team, which means heÂ’s the worst hitter as well. We need better production from the 1st baseman. CanÂ’t have that position OPSing under .800 not to mention under .600. WhatÂ’s really concerning is the at bats donÂ’t even look remotely competitive. He looks totally outmatched by MLB pitching. Maybe Fatty is a bust after all.
  15. Difference in this game: Red Sox 1st baseman can hit homeruns. Ours can’t get the ball out of the infield. This team needs better production out of 1st base. Your 1st baseman can’t OPS 650 and expect to compete.
  16. You’ll get really good rest then.
  17. Move him down in the lineup, he’s useless as a cleanup hitter. A stint in the minors may help to rebuild confidence and provide a chance to tweak his swing path to elevate the ball.
  18. Just send him down, take him of the team whatever. He hasn’t done much to deserve playing time on a MLB team
  19. Vlad's at bats also look bad. His walk to strike out rate is putrid (1 walk in 6 games is terrible). He doesn't seem capable of working the count and doesn't see enough pitches. No doubles, 1 home run in 6 games. OPS < 500 for a first baseman ?? Very poor fielder, with negative defensive value and negative base running. This had better improve and fast. Drop him to 7th/8th in the batting order might help. Thank goodness the Jays didn't offer him some big contract to extend him for 8+ years.
  20. I'll have to agree with the bottom five offense. Vlad better start hitting like a first baseman should, no way one can carry a 1B and DH that put up putrid numbers like they are now.
  21. Fatty is sitting out again which means Jays have a better chance of winning. Yay.
