  1. The point is there are far more quality options via trade than the current free agent pool.
  2. There's various options from this list: https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders/major-league?month=0&pos=all&type=8&stats=rel&pagenum=1&pageitems=30&sortcol=12&sortdir=default Not all CL's by trade, but high leverage arms who are more than capable of closing out games if given the chance. Any one of those guys could be made available for the right price.
  3. They would have a ton of positional depth to trade for a closer.
  4. His plate discipline is pretty advanced, I don't think it'll be as big of a learning curve for him, but we'll see.
  5. We're not talking about some fringe prospect out of high school.
  6. That's Jake Cook
  7. For all we know, this guy could skyrocket through the minors next season and become DV's successor. (I'd prefer that over experimenting with Ernie in CF)
  8. Sounds an awful lot like Fairbanks, but yeah he would be much easier to get at least.
  9. I was thinking more along the lines of Abner Uribe or Aaron Ashby (plus a player/prospect) from the Brewers.
  10. If Bo does re-sign, what do you think of dealing Barger for a high leverage BP arm and to make room for Loperfido in the OF?
  11. Isn't Barger a better corner outfielder than third baseman though?
  12. There's a chance Tiedemann could end up replacing him.
  13. I think there's a better chance of Imai signing with the Giants or Angels than the Yankees.
  14. I wonder what it would take to get Ronny Henriquez from the Marlins? He looks like someone that could dominate the 9th inning as a full time CL.
  15. I hope Bo's open to a sweetheart deal if Tucker gets signed.
  16. Forget it. He's another baserunning liability who's never had more than 3 stolen bases in a single season.
  17. I don't see how Tucker's price would be that much higher than a former MVP.
  18. The only Cody we should be signing is Ponce.
  19. Why? That's a rather modest expectation for this offseason, especially with all the expiring contracts a year from now (payroll shouldn't be an issue).
  20. You don't think Popkins' influence had something to do with this?
  21. I know it's a stretch, but if they can somehow acquire Alcantara from the Cubs, he would be the perfect replacement for DV (assuming he's gone).
  22. Difficult, but not impossible. Roger Clemens had an 8.8 WAR in 1986 - at 23.
  23. He pitched like a 10-year vet with two cy young's under his belt in the postseason. It's a safe bet.
