  1. 90+ wins should be attainable, but uncertainty come playoff time. We still need a shutdown closer.
  2. Second highest payroll in the majors last year and couldn't even clinch a wildcard berth. That failure isn't because of one missing piece, it's completely systemic. A competent front office would've realized that by now.
  3. I think Harris working with Popkins would reignite his hit tool.
  4. Spoken like someone who just woke up from a 3 month coma.
  5. Both KO and BO combined would be still be cheaper than what Tucker's asking for.
  6. There's not much 'history' there besides TJ surgery.
  7. Or Okamoto and Bichette.
  8. I'd rather save money and land Okamoto instead.
  9. If the FO is aggressive enough with a surplus of positional talent.
  10. Trevor Megill
  11. The point is there are far more quality options via trade than the current free agent pool.
  12. There's various options from this list: https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders/major-league?month=0&pos=all&type=8&stats=rel&pagenum=1&pageitems=30&sortcol=12&sortdir=default Not all CL's by trade, but high leverage arms who are more than capable of closing out games if given the chance. Any one of those guys could be made available for the right price.
  13. They would have a ton of positional depth to trade for a closer.
  14. His plate discipline is pretty advanced, I don't think it'll be as big of a learning curve for him, but we'll see.
  15. We're not talking about some fringe prospect out of high school.
  16. That's Jake Cook
  17. For all we know, this guy could skyrocket through the minors next season and become DV's successor. (I'd prefer that over experimenting with Ernie in CF)
  18. Sounds an awful lot like Fairbanks, but yeah he would be much easier to get at least.
  19. I was thinking more along the lines of Abner Uribe or Aaron Ashby (plus a player/prospect) from the Brewers.
  20. If Bo does re-sign, what do you think of dealing Barger for a high leverage BP arm and to make room for Loperfido in the OF?
  21. Isn't Barger a better corner outfielder than third baseman though?
