Second highest payroll in the majors last year and couldn't even clinch a wildcard berth. That failure isn't because of one missing piece, it's completely systemic. A competent front office would've realized that by now.

The point is there are far more quality options via trade than the current free agent pool.

Any one of those guys could be made available for the right price.

They would have a ton of positional depth to trade for a closer.

His plate discipline is pretty advanced, I don't think it'll be as big of a learning curve for him, but we'll see.

Sounds an awful lot like Fairbanks, but yeah he would be much easier to get at least.

I was thinking more along the lines of Abner Uribe or Aaron Ashby (plus a player/prospect) from the Brewers.

If Bo does re-sign, what do you think of dealing Barger for a high leverage BP arm and to make room for Loperfido in the OF?

Isn't Barger a better corner outfielder than third baseman though?
