Martin is at a great starting point. The previous couple times a Blue Jays prospect had a 70+ grade hit tool, they all shoved the lower and upper minors: Vlad Jr, Bo Bichette, Alejandro Kirk. And the best part, Martin probably has the best glove and defensive tools out of the 4 plus-plus prospects with the stick.

So apparently Lindor's contract includes deferrals which pays him until he's age 47 (yikes).

I understand this, but consider Lindor got $341M/10 years between age 27 to 37 while Tatis jr's "statue contract" was $340/14 years between age 22 to 36 They're setting the bar really high for Lindor with plenty of margin for disappointment

Taking the negotiations public does nothing to help the situation though. If Lindor thinks a team will pay him 32 M/year until he’s 39, then that’s his business. Good luck to the team that will pony up for that.

Arden suggested Merryweather + Thornton piggyback instead of Zeuch for the Yankees series on ATL, it makes sense to me. Zeuch with velo uptick still has no swing & miss pitch, sending him against NYY is kinda brutal.
