  1. Works for me.
  2. Fangraphs have become a dumpster fire. You can't even see the stats anymore and new ads load on every page you visit.
  3. Yes I was addressing the Vladdy weight watch club. Injuries will be a concern, but I think the coaches will continue to work with him to get in shape. He’s too important to this team. I don't believe for a second that Vladdy doesn't care about his own conditioning or weight, he wants to be a great player.
  4. Miggy is 37 and still playing. He has 70.6 carrer fWAR and a triple crown winner, 2 x MVP, 4x batting champion, 7 x silver slugger, 11x All Star. If Vlad is anywhere near that I am thrilled.
  5. He came up as a 20 year old rookie @ 270 lbs. He put in effort in the offseason and was measured @250 lbs. An effort was made. We have no idea what he weights now after quarantine. So these kind of assumptions are not fair in my opinion. I’m not calling you out specifically but there’s a lot of people being so uptight about his size. Vlad moving to 1B was inevitable and it’s fine. Miggy and Edwin did and a lot of other star players thrived after moving across the diamond. So can people stop fat shaming him and just let him focus on being a great offensive player? The Vladdy weight watch club can rest in peace now.
  6. This makes a lot of sense.
  7. He’s from Jacksonville Florida. So getting picked by Miami would be like staying home. Also I think their scouting director was from Vanderbilt and his teammate JJ Bleday is also there.
  8. Can’t they just meet their family in the states when they’re on the road? There’s no quarantine protocol down there. It’s not a issue with MLB, but with Canada Customs.
  9. When the bullpen coach has to play in the outfield, something has gone wrong. I think all the outfielders are stuck in quarantine @ Florida.
  10. Didn’t see this posted anywhere. Sportsnet media interviewing Martin: https://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/martin-excited-join-blue-jays-relishes-opportunity-play-country/
  11. If Alford can just hit for average instead of swinging for the fence at every count, he can be a good 4th OF with glove and pinch runner. But Davis can also do that and draws walks and strikeout less. Alford has more power. Alford has 29.4 ft/s sprint speed in 2019, good for 96.2 percentile. Davis has 28.4 ft/s, good for 82.8 percentile. So Alford is faster as a pure pinch runner. Alford had some comical defense last season though.
  12. https://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-intrasquad-game-slice-normalcy-outfielders/ Looks like a couple guys are missing from summer camp / spring training 2.0. To name a few: Biggio Gurriel Grichuk Fisher Davis McKinney Wall
  13. We just talked about this on the freshly recorded podcast. I think it’ll be out sometime later this week.
  14. But what’s his BEAVER?
  15. Martin, Boras, and Shapiro reaction to the deal: Sportsnet Reaction:https://youtu.be/l5Xi3qW3KzY
  16. The Calgary Stampede
  17. Can't complain. Some in the industry see him as a borderline first-round talent. I probably like him more than SRF and Zeuch. He was on my list of college pitchers to target for pick #42. OK college track record, decent analytics, no major injury risks yet. Good makeup™ . The Jays didn't have the pool money to pursue any high-risk prep guys. There were a couple other college players available but CJ Van Eyk was a fine choice. WITH benefit of hindsight and knowing what people signed for (they obviously didn't have this luxury), they could've went with Zach DeLoach (1.73M), Chris McMahon (1.64M), Daniel Cabrera (1.21M), Clayton Beeter (1.2M), just based on the guys I had on my day 2 list. But I think Shatkins really likes Van Eyk.
  18. I was worried KC would take Martin and we’d end up with Asa Lacy. Without the benefit of hindsight, I would’ve much prefer Zac Veen if KC took Martin, and they’d have the pool $ to go with another big signing at #42 such as Jared Jones (2.2M), Jared Kelley (3M), Masyn Winn (2.1M), or Cole Wilcox (3.3M). But I much prefer Martin, this was best case scenario for the Jays.
  19. For sure. Biggio in the fifth round and Kloff in the third round is super underrated.
  20. I think he’s always wanted to try shortstop and he was a great third baseman at Vanderbilt. Nothing wrong if he ends up at centerfield though.
  21. Vancouver has strong fanbase potential and a great city. I’d also support it.
  22. Nashville + Montreal?
