  1. Troy has got to be f***ing kidding now with this s***.
  2. Lol @ the Dickey graphic there. Not an action shot but his oh-f***-another-walk face.
  3. Lol @ Buck knocking the shift in a game when Smoak and Moreland were put out in RF by the 2B.
  4. Will this be the walk-walk-passed ball inning?
  5. And that's the first time I've heard Foltynweicz's name said aloud and I'm really glad I don't talk to people IRL about Braves prospects. *bullet dodged*
  6. 1-2 count goes full, then single. Dickey.gif
  7. Someone whose name the caller can't be assed to remember. But Washington really need pitching and I'm sure a struggling $22M SS and a PTBNL will tickle their earholes.
  8. This is a fair trade for the lil looper going over his head last year in Game 5 ALDS. He totally could have got it. I'll take it.
  9. I remember one time the Twins were in town and Campbell made some torturous pun about Justin Morneau and Joe Mauer. Called them "Mauerneau" or something. I'll never forget. It's when I realized they needed a new voice of the team, and I think his producers probably thought the same thing.
  10. I remember when Campbell was almost universally hated in Blue Jay fan circles. This was back when he was the TV play by play. I like the guy but he's such an awkward dork that it makes for painful listening a little too often. I don't dislike him at all, but there's a time and a place and play by play is unfortunately not it. Evanka is hilarious and I think she has pretty good comedic timing in the rare time I stick around to watch post-game stuff. I think she'd be good on her feet in any broadcast situation. I actually don't mind Zaun at all. Not really sure how great he is at analyzing stats but I always like his thoughts on the down and dirty of being a MLB player. Same reason I liked Dirk Hayhurst, though Hayhurst was a lot less blustery and seemed to love the advanced numbers. Shi is great and I enjoy his reporting. I tend not to read his opinion pieces but I also don't think he writes many. He's strictly The News and I like that. I've never really given Ben Nicholson-Smith a fair shot. Maybe I should. I follow him on Twitter after all. TBH I've never understood the Barry Davis hate at all. I can't see how he's any worse than other personalities. I tend to tune out the sideline human interest stories, but I still think Hazel is way, way worse at the job than Barry. Hazel always seems to be as if it's her first month on the job. There's just the awkwardness about her that makes her seem like she's still not familiar with the game and the terminology.
  11. It's a pretty useful adage when it comes to making pancakes tbh. You don't want to ruin your pancakes.
  12. lol @ the Texas Rangers being upset about bat flip. Between Andrus, Moreland, Odor, and Dyson, maybe they shouldn't have let Bautista step to the plate that inning in the first place. They only had like six outs to work with. Play like a bunch of little league amateurs and then get sore when you get your faces stomped clean off and the stomper is all jacked up because he basically created an MLB Heritage Moment in the process.
  13. Off how many egregious errors too? Team is seriously sloppy and it seems like very few mistakes don't end up as game changers.
  14. I don't think I've ever eaten there. I'm pretty addicted to their root beer though. I can't pass by an A&W stall at a mall food court without getting one.
  15. Between Souza, Pearce, LoMo, and Dickerson, I wouldn't be surprised if there's an average of two savage bro headbutts per day in the Rays clubhouse.
  16. Worst hitter was actually on deck. Good job by the bottom of the order to get themselves out of the way before the third inning.
  17. Sunday I think, so yeah. Pretty long time.
  18. I wonder how far apart the teams are in this stat. On its face it does seem to confirm what we've been observing: the guys just do not swing at hittable pitches for some reason.
  19. Full "glory" or "glory" whole?
  20. Barney hit a homer off f***ing Sonny Gray and still can't get regular playing time at the lean end of a platoon.
  21. I think it's clear at this point that he's still riding the high from last year's playoff run and doesn't want to rock the boat. -Pillar leading off -Ezequiel being on the team -Colabello over Smoak in almost every situation despite being literally as bad as any one of us posting here There's no other explanation unless Barney's injured.
  22. This goes back to like 2012. It's mostly a different crew each time out, though? Probably just a frustrating coincidence IMO. Hard to imagine it's on Gibby babying the vets since the 2012 and 2013 squads never really recovered anyway (and Gibby wasn't around in 2012). The 2014 and 15 squads both stepped up nicely, though the big time injuries in July 2014 kept that season from hitting the next level. Last year, IIRC, the offense was all aces while the pitchers just kept giving up runs. This year it's the other way around for the most part. Hard to really find any patterns outside of the name of the month.
  23. A name I would never have recalled in my whole life if not for this post.
  24. Oh god and I sent him my taxes too...
  25. The pen is totally unreliable at the moment and last night proved that Gibbons is afraid of it too. The 7th inning with Estrada was prime BP time for Gibby, and I think it's pretty obvious the reason he didn't make the call was because none of his non-Osuna RPs have reliably been able to come in and just make a decisive out. I agree about the roster setup, but my real point is that no amount of smart roster construction can make up for Edwin, Tulo, Cola, and Martin having back-to-back-to-back terrible ABs so frequently. It's a lull that has to pass and can't really be regularly bandaged over.
