It's cool they got Dickerson too. There's a decent chance by the time he comes back (weeks? a month?) someone will be sidelined with something, so Dickerson slots right in. At worst, he's a fifth OF and then rosters expand in Sept.
Is it me or is this ump something like 99% on the ball? I think only a couple of low calls looked iffy a couple of innings ago, bit that's it. It's like he has his own strikezone graphic in his mind.
I appreciate when people appreciate the 2014 crew. That was a not-bad year, lost between awful results from the year before it and the amazing fun from the two after it.
Both plays were such near catches that I understand the hesitation in both instances. They were easy double ups waiting to happen. Kind of unfortunate.
Except the Granderson send. I could tell he was dead the second it left Calhoun's hand.
The Twins lucked out by the rest of the AL being a pile of s***. WC2 usually needs like 87 wins to lock up a spot. I'm not sure they're a good example of not-tanking. Pretty sure they sold off the back end of their pen and rotation in anticipation of not competing too.
Braves beating the Cubs 10-2, now down 12-10. Latest two runs were walked in. Nice reward for the Wrigley fans who stuck around in rain coats.
Edit: two more come on a wild pitch + air mail into the outfield. 14-10 lmao
Too bad those home runs didn't clank off the wall. The team would be 2-3 or 1-4 rather than 3-2, but at least there wouldn't be this reliance on the long ball.
Getting on base = offence. Multi-run, go-ahead home runs don't come out of the blue. If Martin's HR was turned into a double by the Green Monster would you have the same attitude toward the team's approach?
