  1. Perfectly oiled? They had 16 guys reach base (11 BBs) and scored twice. The Rays are really good but they left a win right on the table. This board would have added 12 pages to the Fire Montoyo thread if the Jays had the same performance.
  2. Trop baseball is hateful. It makes me hate baseball, that's how grotesque the Trop is.
  3. That strike zone is f***ing arbitrary at this point.
  4. New York finishes the season tough. They're desperate for these patsy wins. You have to expect they'll get a few.
  5. Lose the mask immediately to clear your vision. It loses very little time if it becomes a reflex.
  6. I have a distinct feeling that this game's horseshit has still yet to reveal its full form.
  7. Did I hear the Star Trek theme after Kirk's passed ball? That is exceptionally cruel
  8. Tbh it would look pretty bad on the Jays to not even have a brief extension chat with a guy who swoops in and hits 40 bombs for you. I'm skeptical that they're willing to go all in.
  9. Nice to see the Rays lose (to the Tigers) again. I'm probably projecting but I really want them to have to go all-hands on deck in the last series against NY to secure the no. 1 seed. Then again, maybe being no. 2 and facing the White Sox is actually a better matchup for them.
  10. I forgot the Rays also got this guy in the Archer trade. Pittsburgh traded what could be a core trio for Chris Archer (who himself is back on the Rays).
  11. I'm really interested to see if/how a universal DH hot stove shifts more talent into the NL. There is a huge drop-off in quality after the top 3 teams in that league. Even the NLE leader is trailing AL seed 8 in W-L. Obviously a DH rule isn't the whole story, but it'll at least spread the butter a bit more evenly.
  12. And obviously needs a history lesson too. It was Encarnacion, not Bautista, who abruptly ended the last meaningful game the O's ever played. Other good choices: Buck Showalter, Ubaldo Jimenez. Bad choice because he didn't appear in that game: Zach Britton More history: the O's are 247-447 since the 2016 Wild Card game.
  13. Springer and Dickerson both have strong numbers against Pineda. That's 100% what's happening here.
  14. I'm a bit surprised since the O's don't-- um. They play the game right way, I think. Should be fine.
  15. I believe Jays hold tie-break vs Yanks but Sox hold tie-break over Jays.
  16. Seems more and more like that Yankee series at the dome is going to be decisive in one way or the other. Because why wouldn't it.
  17. The Giants are twisting the knife into the hearts of the Padres right in the 1st inning tonight.
  18. Is Meadows+Glasnow for Archer the worst trade in recent memory?
  19. The problem with all these Blue Jay games is that you can't even savour the amazing thing that just happened because something crazier is two innings away.
  20. I want to emphasize that our SP and starting catcher tonight were basically plucked from A-ball to the MLB and they have just thrown five shutout innings against the best team in the league.
  21. Does anyone want that last NL wild card slot? I hate the National League so much.
  22. The Blue Jays scored 44 times in the last three games (two of which were only 7-innings in length).
