  1. Yes, Pat, this new group of Yankees is just as talented as the Jeter-Posada-et al group who won four World Series.
  2. The thing about this season is that between Morales and emergence of Smoak, we're seeing a lot more of the RF seats. They'd really become just a passing acquaintance for a while.
  3. Letting the Jays blast off is probably a better way to end this game after 9 innings.
  4. My girlfriend and I have a running gag going to spot ads whose main message can be boiled down to "work hard, play hard".
  5. I actually have faith in Tepera here. Unrelated: is Howell on the team right now?
  6. I'd consider getting JD and TT to pinch hit their positions the next time around. JD maybe should have already come in for Maile.
  7. Is there something in the water we give to this f***ing team when they come here?
  8. Must be pretty bad if I can't even get a Spanky thanks.
  9. You could write an epic consisting only of Andrus brainfarts in this stadium.
  10. My girlfriend would leave me for a night with Tom Hardy. Maybe even just for 15 minutes.
  11. You want as many off days as possible during an injury plague like this. Your guys get extra days to recover and you don't have to go into battle without them.
  12. I'm frankly a little bit surprised that Bautista as a pinch-3B has never been tried before. Seems short-sighted, although yesterday could very easily be an aberration. He could still be a terrible infielder who just got some decent opportunities to look good.
  13. In fairness, late-2016 Jose looked like a broken man who could barely run the bases. My suggestion was that he could probably market himself as a corner-utility player: 1B, 3B, LF, RF. With his bat declining, even being simply an above average power hitter seems pretty valuable if you can stick him into five different spots in the lineup (including DH), which is pretty uncommon for 37-yos who are treading through the end of the careers on Old Man Skills alone. He looks fairly refreshed early this season, though. I definitely did not suggest 2B. EDIT: You beat me to it.
  14. I wish I could find the post where you pretty much told me to delete my account for suggesting this exact thing. It was definitely in one of the offseason threads talking about possible Donaldson backups.
  15. A win tomorrow makes them 21-26 before the last week of May. I'd say the team is in a lot better shape than everyone who jumped off the cliff thought. Watching the little guys keep the team afloat has been charming, in a way.
  16. Sort of got nervous when Osuna lost Eric "From IT" Sogard, but nice bounceback against an annoying hitter. 3-3 on the roadtrip following a 6-1 homestand. Things may not be so bleak!
  17. I really wanted him in the offseason too. I'll eat crow on that, definitely. I also wanted Valbuena and Handsome Angel a lot too.
