  1. No that isn't anything what I said. That would make us a .500 club overall. A closer to .500 club here on out makes us a 9 or 10 game above .500 team with over 90 wins and a good chance at the playoffs. If you're expecting so much, where does it end? You are anticipating a 100 win team?
  2. See you're only expecting higher than 91 wins now because of a hot streak. Every season has highs & lows, we haven't hit the lows yet. Maybe it's the years of mediocrity talking here but yes overall a realistic winning % is closer to .500 than .750 over the next 4 month period. I'd rather be set up for a surprise than a let down at this stage.
  3. 9 games above .500 puts them at 91 wins. Expecting much more than that is setting yourself up for disappointment. Realistic expectations easily get lost when a team goes on an winning tear that's simply unsustainable.
  4. Yea I know, only thing to add is that probably half of the tv audience aren't actually cheering for the argos lol.
  5. I would hope a pro team winning their division in a shortened 18 game season would draw a larger TV audience than a team playing a 162 saturated one... Doesn't mean their fan base is larger just that each game of football is vastly more important than baseball.
  6. While there were definitely more memorable games & better overall performances, I have to go with Lawrie. With the hype surrounding him and within his first week of getting called up, seeing him smash that grand slam and how pumped he got was something I've since rewatched at least a dozen times online.
  7. It's not about if it can support the argos or not, it's that Rogers owns it and they want their ball team to have their own grass field and bring in fans to make real money for them. Leasing it out and accommodating 8 games to the argos is a waste of their time & money since they want to reconfigure the stadium for primarily baseball.
  8. A meatball looks like a beachball right now to EE.. he wouldn't be poking that to right field.
  9. Just because his foot wasn't on the green carpet (calling it grass makes me quiver), doesn't mean you shouldn't be ready. He should have gotten back.
  10. I get the hatred towards Reyes... the 27th out is the bitch of the night but the TSN turning point was Cabrera getting picked off and our insurance run removed.
  11. Reyes... GET TO THE CHOPPA!
  12. Was anyone at the game? Was I hearing boos after the 9th from the fans? Bunch of non-contributing zeros.
  13. Bet that 6th inning curtain call feels pretty lame about now.
  14. f*** You dickey.. you only threw 7 quality starts in a row... *******.
  15. WTF they were suppose to go 117-0 to end the year. Chill the f*** out.
  16. http://baseball.physics.illinois.edu/KBall/dickey-rhymes-hd.gif
  17. Now batting... the center fielder... Colbyyyy Rrrasmus.
  18. Because people are obsessed with minuscule stats and Dickey himself has been pretty open about conditions effecting the pitch. This backs it up: http://bjays.wordpress.com/2013/10/12/does-closing-the-dome-help-r-a-dickeys-knuckleball/ Basically more batters swing & miss with the door closed then when it's open. I think it's silly and if it's a beautiful day keep that damn lid open and at least pretend rogers centre is a real baseball park.
  19. Hendricks, Dickey, Happ against A's at home.... lol. Whelp we at least got to enjoy a taste of 1st place.
  20. Sort of makes the 1st base coach stopwatch look like a horse & buggy.
  21. Rasmus' problem in fantasy leagues is he is about as streaky as they come. He'll look like a rookie call up at the plate one month and the hottest hitting player in the league the next. After a DL stint I'm not sure what guy will show up, he was on an 8 or 10 game hit streak I think before that series with the Angels with 4 or 5 dingers in that time.
  22. Next stop: Intercounty Baseball League.
