Before this season, Sanchez had only pitched freaking A ball... He's now pitching in the majors as one of our most reliable arms. Stop scrutinizing him already.
I'm baffled why Stroman isn't pitching. Going to waste up to 3 BP arms when your starter had 76 pitches thrown with a 5 run lead. Stroman could have gone 8.
There's also a < 10% chance of any top of the rotation arm signing in TO as a free agent at anytime in the foreseeable future. Moving him to the pen and being a dominant reliever will always be an option but switching him back to starter will not.
I'll take my chances with a guy who has upside to be an above average starter over forcing him to be a reliever any day. Most relievers are just failed starters, there's a reason for that.
Forgive my ignorance, but does home side / away side have separate gyms? Is the home side different? Is there reason to be concerned that Tanaka can't use a Swimex to rehab in Toronto?
