  1. That we shouldn't need to make a trade that a lot here are suggesting according to our past discussions. We knew Saunders wasn't going to be playing a full season and most here seemed to say that's fine because we've made up Cabrera's lost wins in other areas so a replacement level player for Saunder's missed games would be sufficient. We shouldn't need to look at trades if we're to believe Pillar can be average for 80 games. I'm just relaying what everyone here said in the past, albeit with a bit of sarcastic sneer to it.
  2. I'm just the messenger.
  3. heughm... didn't everyone here reminded us that it's ok if he's injured because he'll still bring us 2WAR as long as he plays the second half healthy. amiright stat geeks? We can just stick a replacement player there for 80 games and we're good to go because Russel Martin makes up for that.
  4. Can we start saying the Jays have a curse yet?
  5. Unbelievable. Jack Zduriencik is pissing himself laughing.
  6. He was just being honest, aside from the Colby comment I don't see where he's thrown anyone under the bus nor is he running his mouth. He even said he wants to work for the Jays when he's done his career. As far as I've always known, I thought Colby was just a guy who kept to himself, maybe somewhat socially awkward but for all we know those 2 never got along.
  7. Jays will be over 83 this year, one thing's for sure I'm genuinely looking forward to this season drastically more than last.
  8. You need a holiday.
  9. lol yes that too. Bottom line is if a guy like Coke is coming in with runners on you're going to be cringing. His glorious H/9 is above 10... I'd rather Delabar walk a batter and then strike the next out to lessen the damage.
  10. Gawdd.. I hope Phil Coke is not our go to solution to bailing Dickey out of jams in the 7th.
  11. He's probably gotten us out of more jams in high leverage situations than any reliever in our pen the past 2 seasons. I think he can handle the 9th including 1/3rd the time going against 7,8,9 guys.
  12. I agree with this. Though Luis Perez will make his way back at some point as a regular lefty over Rasmussen/coke.
  13. Except when injuries happen mid season and they have no money to replace guys like last summer.
  14. Sanchez could hold down the 9th as needed, Estrada could turn out to be useful and they also don't even need a damn closer - its such a stupid f***ing role anyway.
  15. Hell yes, I loved Perez, he was always so much better than the results he got and I think he could be a gem for this bp.
  16. Please sign Shields because in late September I want to look at my wife while shopping at 6:30PM for once and say "Hurry the f*** up and pick some toilet paper already and lets get home, I'm not missing this game for this piddly s***."
  17. That's like saying signing Shields means we're going to have great pitching depth and that's a horrible thing... scratches head.
  18. Dickey pitched well against Yankees last year, only 2 starts mind you but he was pitching in to the 7th scoreless against them one of those games. Stroman pitching in his hometown on opening day would be butterflies galore for him.
  19. Didn't Reyes lose like 27 games in a row?
  20. I saved face by saying "If.." not "When..."
  21. If things go downhill again this season... come October what will we be talking about is the reason for their failure?
  22. Everyone expected 20/yr for 5 years back in November... 4 months later and still no movement. The longer he waits out the more of a ding he'll have to take and I think the $110 offer he supposedly rejected was likely fabricated to sound aggressive. If he really wants the high AAV he may have to drop down to 3 years + option and start taking some serious offers. No one wants to pay 37 year old pitchers $20MM unless you're getting a Verlander during his prime.
