That's by far the most noticeable difference on this team IMO. We could always hit, for the better part of the past decade but that defensive upgrade is significant.
Pillar's OBP in Spring Training was .288, 2015 season it was .314, even Ryan Goins was on base more than him.
The question is, will this last and if not who replaces him?

I don't expect our starting rotation to give us 5 bad innings every game but I think aiming for quality starts @ 6 innings 3 runs is pretty ideal to hand it over. That's what I expect from our starters.
