  1. Well.. Pedro was the better pitcher in 2003, a strikeout artist with better results but if you consider Roy's ridiculous workload to get there it's justifiable.
  2. Do you think voters will care about RA9-WAR?
  3. I'd go with Kluber, most WAR and also sports a >9K/9 which is a requirement in my book. Would never vote for any reliever, regardless of their stats unless the entire league's starting pitchers were knuckleballers.
  4. lmao, there most be a lot of drunken injuries from falling off that.
  5. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but that's the best answer in this thread.
  6. No lol, Devon Travis was certainly not homegrown here... how could he? Homegrown means our organization developed him, we turned him in to the player he is over years of minor league work. Anthony Gose, who we didn't draft would still be considered homegrown by most because he spent the majority of his minor league development in our organization. We traded our homegrown talent to acquire Devon Travis who inturn had an immediate impact on our team.
  7. and Sanchez? Stroman has the 4th best xFIP in the AL, how much weight do you put on that going forward?
  8. So I'd like to discuss xFIP & ERA again. Not to debate the difference between them but for the past few years I've looked at xFIP stats to evaluate player's expectations going forward. Has your thoughts changed at all when seeing Sanchez / Estrada / Happ near the top of the league's lowest ERA and what you expect from them the next 2 months? ERA-FIP http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=sta&lg=all&qual=0&type=c,4,5,11,7,8,13,-1,36,37,40,43,44,48,51,-1,6,45,62,-1,59,117,119,124&season=2016&month=0&season1=2016&ind=0&team=14&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=21,d I can't help but notice 6 of 7 who have started for us this year have been exceeding their FIP, some by a large margain. By saying Stroman has pitched much better than his stats suggest based on xFIP what does that say about everyone else? I'm not trying to create an ERA vs FIP debate that's kind of a waste of time but just the fact that collectively we have been outstanding this year in results from our rotation is something that can't be overlooked. Is it going to come crashing back to earth down the stretch or are they are all FIP beaters?
  9. My wife and two kids despise baseball because that's the reason daddy is unavailable right now, watching TV. So sadly, no one will go to a game with me lol. Only been to one this year, they lost 3-2 to Detroit. Pretty s***** game overall.
  10. Thanks to the s***** time of game 5 and a problem at work I was forced to sell my ticket 45min before game time. It went above face value but I was so pissed off all afternoon leading up to it knowing I couldn't fix the problem in time.
  11. Ceciliani, Lake, Upton, Smoak, Barney, Thole. Some threatening bats right there.
  12. Hopefully winning a WS this year is the high point in his career
  13. yea Martin is 0 for his last 14. Granted aside from Travis everyone has looked like ass.
  14. I missed the cleat in the turf issue, was it his knee that got hurt from it?
  15. His timing looks damn near back the last few games, I wouldn't want to lose that bat for one of Smoak or Barney. He's hit the ball hard, had a couple of doubles, nearly a HR. If it was because he's not playing up to his standards you move him down the line up not replace him with shittier players. I'm going to guess he's hurt.
  16. What's wrong with Bautista?
  17. Well we were discussing about today's ideal line up which is against a lefty, otherwise yea I don't think he should be in the line up vs RHP at all right now.
  18. We can only work with what we got though and vs LHP he'd still be the better choice over Smoak, Barney or Ceciliani in the line up and a better choice over Bautista or Saunders in the OF.
  19. I'd probably prefer EE @ 1B and get Barney in the game over Smoak vs Lefties, whether that means Saunders/Bautista or even Barney DHing is fine with me. Use Smoak off the bench vs RH reliever if needed.
  20. ooo house hunters is on.
  21. Need to dump gasoline all over the bats, light a match than throw in Smoak's uniform for good measure.
  22. It's damn near unwatchable.
