    First base has always been a poor mans DH. Good hitters who suck in the field grow up playing first base. How is it that we have 2 first basemen that both suck at hitting? Id rather have someone from AAA playing first (though EE at 1B and JB DH makes more sense).

    First base is a major black hole. Gibby should seriously consider moving EE to first and calling up someone from AAA to DH

    Its actually not as bad as it looks. Coming into todays games we trailed the tigers by 5 runs scored for the overall AL lead... and that is with 7 players below the mendoza line.

    We seem to be making a big deal of this as a board, but I want to note that in the AL we have the 5th most runs scored and we are only 5 runs behind the Tigers for the overall lead. Yeah, we expect more from a few players but our offense is still strong even key players hitting below the mendoza line. In fact coming into tonight's game there were 7 players hitting below 200.

    I think it may have gotten wet on one occasion in the red sox series and started to marble... I expect the ground crew is still getting used to it.
