What Kind of bonus is this guy looking at? By the sound of it sounds like it will be north of 5 million. Be interesting because teams who are already over the cap would be paying double to sign the guy.

I always thought the ratings would be decent because there are a lot of Canadians who live in the US or at least a lot of Blue Jay fans. Look no further to our road games to see how many Blue Jay fans are south of the border.

Has there been any talk that the Blue Jays would get any of the Sunday Night ESPN games now that we are actually in a race for a division title? IIRC the 2nd half has not been made up for the schedule because they wait to see which teams are good and bad. It not like we don't have star players to draw people in either (Bautista, EE, Reyes)

Yes they would lose the picks. Not sure if you are talking about the Yankees situation but Intl FA you don't lose draft picks the following year for going over your bonus pool. Just the ability to sign a player for larger than 300k

Sounds like they had a deal in place for something less than 50k. I wonder if we threw like 100k at him if he would sign? We would then gain 80k on our bonus pool that we could use to try to sign Houck. I think I heard Shi say that we have around 500k if you take into account the 5%. Not sure Houck signs for 600k.

I think Gose actually is better at bunting against LHP this year even though its been a small sample.

At least we have speed on the bases for a bunt. All he needs to do is get it down.

If need be seems like Jansen can go for another inning. Didn't throw a lot of pitches.

Going to be worse against RHP. Mastro and tolleson are in the lineup instead of Lind.

Not a mistake IMO. Took a perfect throw to get him and if hes safe you have a guy in scoring position with 1 out. Better chance of being safe there then stealing a base.

Because Mastro is supposed to be able to bunt and then you make your defence better for the rest of the game because you are supposed to have the lead if Mastro executes. Great call by Gibby but you cant fault him for a guy not doing his job that he is supposed to do.

Happ actually has better numbers than Dickey to this point. However I think Dickey will be better if you look at this point in the season and on. I think a RH 2nd base or 3rd baseman is the biggest priority especailly since Lawrie is out of the lineup. That is going to make the biggest difference in trying to win the division.

Don't think they have ever fielded this poor a defence. Kawa is the only above average defender out there. A lot of really bad defenders Melky, edwin, Lind, Reyes, Francisco, Navarro..
