  1. Just looked up the splits. This guy can't hit whatsoever. has a 85 wRC in his career vs LHP with a .362 BABIP with some of those games coming at Coors this season. Dont want him enless you are getting him for cash considerations.
  2. BB: As a former catcher what do you see in Dan Jansen? CM: What you love about Jansen is that he is a blue-collar guy. He is a terrific worker, he has good aptitude, a good body and strength and Jansen, from where he was when he first signed to where he is now, he has made the strides and the leaps forward that you hope a player will make. You want players to be consistenly trending upwards and Jansen is doing that both offensively and defensively. The good thing about Jansen is that he is a tough kid and a really good worker. He enjoys working with the pitching staff and he enjoys taking more accountability . For his age he is doing well, he is a blue collar guy who will give everything back there and you know you can trust him and he has the pitchers best interest in mind. Sounds like they are praising him for his work ethic and being a hard nosed guy but never really mentions any tools or anything. sounds like a good game caller
  3. I think there would be more harm than good with that scenario. Janssen could feel uncomfortable starting a game and then you are down early. While I hate how intangibles are used sometimes there is a human element and taking someone out of their comfort zone is not a bad thing. Also whats to say Stroman is not better in the first couple innings because starters put up weaker numbers than relievers usually because they have to face the order multiple times and that would be the first time through the order. Just start Stroman and use the bullpen like you would normally.
  4. The interview that talked about him made him sound like just a guy. Had the "He grinds and competes". Sounds like he doesn't have that many tools that grade out better than average. If he can frame and has a strong arm sounds like he could become a backup catcher which is not a bad thing.
  5. I am really excited to see the Dallas Starts this season. Have a ton of offence and if their defence and goaltending can be good this is a team to watch out for.
  6. 3 years with an option of a 4th. 10 million combined.
  7. Lol it wasn't about him buying suits..More the vetrin presents that he provides with all the kids and the stability. I wonder what the return you could expect for MB? You might be able to play off that he will get a QO which would make his value even higher.
  8. Your right completely forgot about that one. 10 Million down the drain. At least its not that bad a contract that cripples a team like Pujols or Hamilton.
  9. I was talking about position players. Which one is worse? You could argue Arencibia but that is more keeping him vs his contract.
  10. I don't think Rasmus would be resigned if he doesn't produce the rest of the year. We saw with Arencibia that if you are bad you are not coming back even if its cheap. The Blue Jays are at the point where they need to have players in place that have a good chance to produce and not take a flyer on an important position. Iv been really disapointed with Rasmus defence this year. Seems his range has diminished.
  11. I agree with some posters, no need to extend pitchers in their rookie contracts. Pitchers carry a lot of risk and even the team friendly deals can fail with just one one injury. Look at Matt Moore with that really team friendly deal at the time everyone called a steal. He could come back and never be the same after TJS and actually not be worth the contract. The Blue Jays have done a great job at signing their position players to contracts in the AA timeline. Bautista, EE, Escobar, Melky have all been great deals with Navarro being the worse probably and that was only 8 million anyways.
  12. I feel like because of this the front office is going to be less inclined to trade Buehrle in the offseason. I think he is a great sell high and getting his contract off the books frees up a lot of cash that can help address other needs.
  13. Are you talking about the sens roster or the leafs? I think both are bubble playoff teams. Leafs D at least has a few puck moving defenceman that have good talent but it will be up to the coaching staff to install a system that brings it out.
  14. Ott roster isn't even really that bad. The defence is pretty scary especially with Jared Cowen but the forwards are a nice collection of talent with the potential to be very good. Found it interesting that Dumbas got all the front office staff with the Greyhounds to read the Extra 2%. Seems like a very smart man who is not just a numbers guy.
  15. Had an okay outing. Positive is he had 6 ks. Negative obviously being the 4BB. I think we all got really excited when he first got to AA but now everyone realizes he still needs to refine his command.
  16. Seattle. Winning the Division is way more important.
  17. I hate the defence wins championships argument. Big load of ********. Ortiz is a great hitter and useless defensively. Defence wins you nothing if you don't have competent hitting or pitching. Out of the 3 defence is probably the one that you can get by on not having. A great pitcher can shut down an offence. A great defence is useless if a pitcher gives up a homerun.
  18. Chris Archer is like half black I think.
  19. I think everyone knows that one of those top guys is going to get hurt or be ineffective. Sanchez most likely is never going to live up to the hype and wont be much more than a number 3 or will get hurt with his delivery and high velocity. Out of Norris Hutch and Nolin you might get one number 3 and a number 4 starter with the other getting hurt or being ineffective. Look at what happened with Shelby Miller, looked like a future number 2 and now he is becoming a future Ricky Romero. I still agree that the pitching looks great for the future as there is also a ton of lower level high upside pitchers that will have a few pan out.
  20. I probably would only give up that package for Price out of all the starters on the market. Wouldn't even give that up for Lester.
  21. Once the regulars come back our lineup vs LHP will actually be pretty good with Rasmus being the only below avg hitter. I think you need a SP but if the price is too high, don't pull the trigger and pray you can get something out of Morrow. I would not trade anything of value for a RP as that is probably the last need I would address. If hutch is moved to the pen it might help also you hope Delabar or Santos could come back and give you something.
  22. Any reason he is pitching only once every 2 weeks? Guessing he is pitching in simulated games on the side while working on things.
  23. Do you have a scouting report on him? Seems like you know more than what you are saying lol.
