    My god why did TSN hire the guy. I like how a lot of the media slams Martin but the guy is still worth his contract and is still one of the better Catchers in baseball. Now that last year will likely be dead money but he's still good now and might be worth $20M next year too. That was a pretty good FA signing by AA.

    Probably because they can monitor him a lot better with the staff being at the ST facility.

    They can convert Green to a Starter and they've improved their team quite a bit. Clippard was garbage and Kahne vs the Tommy Layne's of the world is still a big upgrade.

    He really needs to move to 1st or DH. He tries hard but he's terrible in the OF which makes him lose all the value of his bat.

    I think its more his attitude of "I'm better than you" that rubs people the wrong way. I talked to a couple people that met him and they said similar to what the scout says. At the same time he's just a young kid and as long as he has a great work ethic that's going to be what matters along with his ability.

    You need a foundation of young position players. Cubs, Astros, Red Sox, Dodgers, Indians all have it. I'd rather that than the Mets or Braves with their pitching.

    They'll probably not let any Starter outside Severino and Tanaka face the order 3 times. You can never have too good a bullpen.

    Kahnle has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this year. Like the deal for the Yankees a lot more but White Sox did better than the Tigers at least.

    Funny because scouts and prospect writers said he would struggle in the high minors with velocity because of his swing and a lot of people here mocked them for it and turns out he's exactly done that. RE: Tellez

    Seems like a pretty light package from the Yanks. So far 2 of the 3 deadline deals have really favoured the buyers.

    Thing is even with all of that talent things can go wrong like the Astros last year not making it, the Cubs this year being bad. So its not like they you will be in guaranteed contention year after year even if you get a bunch of star talent. The Braves did a rebuild and they still don't look too good.

    Yeah hell they might as well just hold on to Estrada and Liriano. Funny that Smith probably returns more than the other 3 combined.

    I think he has full autonomy but he's also the President so he likely understands how much the team's success affects the bottom line.
