    I think what happened with Boagarts and JBJ is fresh in people and putting bias into thinking Pompey and Travis won't be good.

    They are probably looking for a decent return coming off the season he had. Not the biggest fan of giving anything of value for a guy who can be a complete bust.

    Team needs a closer though. I'd rather have him at closer finishing games for 2 years then stretch him out to be a starter one to walk as a FA in 2016.

    Are there any similar comps of a guy who has been a reliever for that long switching to being a starter? John Smoltz is one off the top of my head but he was a starter in the big leagues previously.

    What makes you think he can throw 132 IP? Numbers aren't the be all end all... If a player doesn't feel comfortable starting it can lead to other issues which a steamer projection conversion table isn't going to show.

    Not if they are the best players. Yeah, its very risky but that is probably better than the alternatives. Izturis is garbage and Pillar has been a disaster against RHP.

    Latvia spamming the fan vote. Fan voting should really be stopped but it never will since it creates more viewers and hits on the webpages.

    For where this team is and what it is trying to accomplish, Chapman is better as closer imo. Injury risk is probably higher if you try and start him, as is that he becomes ineffective. Just take those 60 dominant innings instead of having a Feliz situation.

    Yeah I don't want Infante at all. That contract is pretty gross. I just wish there was a better stopgap option than Izturis/Goins. Both are likely worse than replacement at this point.

    Last year- Chapman 54 innings-2.7 WAR, RA9WAR-2.0 Jeremy Guthrie- 202 innings 1.5 WAR, RA9WAR 1.9 Edit: There probably isn't a good chance Sanchez ever throws 200 innings in a season.

    Because those 60 innings are worth as much as a number 3 starter, which would be a very good outcome for Sanchez or Norris to turn into.

    Anyone else think Duquette being the GM of the Orioles while wanting the CEO job of Toronto is a huge conflict of interest? If he knows the Jays want him and he wants to be there and it is only a matter of time then being the GM for a division rival seems like a terrible idea. As the owner I'd be a little concerned.
