  1. I'll take the over. I'm fine with it in the 145 range but I hope they use more money for Latin America improvements to Dunedin etc...
  2. I think Rogers knows if they keep payroll the same fans will be pissed and rightfully so. When you make an extra $100 million (probably even more) on the team and don't put it back into the team that would cause a backlash from fans. Especially since they will raise ticket prices etc... I think Payroll should be at least in the $160 range
  3. lol wtf one of the reasons why Pillar is so good is because his reads and routes are some of the best in baseball. I think hes actually the opposite of what you said. His top speed isn't the best but its the insticts/tracking that makes him so good. There will be the odd time he breaks back on a ball off the end of the bat but that happens with everyone...
  4. Im not paying a 4th OF 7 million dollars. If it were me I would sign Saunders for 2-3 Million to be LF and have Pompey start in Buffalo for depth knowing there is a very good chance he will come up because of injury. As much as Revere seems like a likeable guy there are better options especially for that price.
  5. There was still 1 payment but looking at it you are right since payment 2 and payment 3 are the same amount.
  6. Imagine Revere/Donaldson walked and Bautista was up with the bases loaded. If he came through in that spot people would be calling it one of if not the best playoff performances in the history of the game.
  7. Pennington is at an age where middle IF defense really starts to decline so I think that would have to be factored in. Don't want to go all "eye test" but Goins just looked so much better with the glove this year than Pennington.
  8. Goins is much better defensively than Pennington. Defensive projections aren't very accurate...
  9. Weird since the Donaldson trade literally happened this year. Graveman, Nolin look barely above replacement level and Lawrie had an awful season. Even if he turns it around he's a FA in 2 years.
  10. Seems no one is talking about the estimated payroll? Am I the only one who thinks the team should get a big bump in that department to the $160-170 range? The US dollar hurts but Rogers/Sportsnet probably made close to $100 million extra this year. That TV contract alone has to be worth $150 million on the open market with the ratings the Jays get.
  11. I feel for the Jays players doing these interviews. Has to be so hard to do these mandatory interviews just minutes after losing the biggest games of their lives.
  12. Yeah Gibbons did a pretty good job managing. Navarro has a high contact rate. You really wish those 2 strike calls didn't impact the game the way they did but at the end of the day they still had lots of chances.
  13. Most interested in SP and LF. I'd bring back Saunders and have Pompey as depth for all 3 OF positions. Probably trade Revere or just non tender him.
  14. If Marcus Stroman starts warming can he start tomorrow anyway?
  15. What was the rumour about Valencia going around by the Jays media anyway? Seemed he did a certain something that got him DFA'd.
  16. your right. Confirmation bias on my end. Only gave up 3 HR all year, dumb on me not to check the numbers lol.
  17. I'd use Hendriks if he doesn't go tonight. Give me 4/5 IP of Hendriks then the pen over Dickey.
  18. Although Stroman gets a ton of Grounballs so KC likely wouldn't win the game with 1 swing of the bat unlike Hendriks who seems to give up some Homeruns with the fastball. You would be kind of screwed for tomorrow though..
  19. Jeez bringing in Stroman would be a terrible mistake when you have Lowe and Hendriks available. And telling your plan to National TV is a terrible idea.
  20. Good news as Jays would lose Sanchez and KC would lose Davis.
  21. So it was Jose Bautista who literally brought the rain
