  1. They are almost a sure bet to trade Puig apparently.
  2. one bad leg injury could kill his value though. Thats the risk when you are giving out the $200 million+ contracts
  3. He's said on record that you still can't win without talent so I doubt hes going to bring in good clubhouse guys that suck talent wise. I know the Derosa and Visquez signings were suppose to help all the terrible character but talented players mesh.
  4. Ad revenue from Sports has gone up dramatically since 2009-2012. If Rogers pays $500 million for the NHL contract then there is no way the Jays and MLB postseason is worth less than $150 million per year. Jays almost pulled in 200 million viewers this year just looking at regular season+playoffs.
  5. lol you gonna date him King?
  6. Perry is a little better because of the goals but he's had a horrific start. Both guys the same age so a pretty even trade.
  7. I'd put him 3rd to break up the righties. I'd probably go: Bautista Donaldson Votto EE Tulo Martin
  8. Maybe waste was the wrong word. I'd honestly put him in CF if I were the Yankees.
  9. Can't really see the Yankees with Ellsbury and Gardiner still locked up. Heyward would be a waste in RF in that ballpark. I can see the Dodgers signing him once they trade Puig.
  10. He has the potential to be an MVP candidate. Maybe being beside guys like Donaldson and Bautista will help him. I've heard his swing is pretty bad but I can't see a player like him overhauling his swing since he is already pretty successful.
  11. What do we think Heyward gets? 8-9 years and 220 million?
  12. It didn't look as great as it did now though. Lawrie took a huge step back defensively and his plate discipline eroded. Graveman took a step back and Nolin looks to be crap. That leaves Barreto as the one good piece. Meanwhile Donaldson became the MVP and looks to be one of the best players for the foreseeable future. My issue is people constantly bringing up the Dickey trade without mentioning the Donaldson trade or all the other great trades AA has made.
  13. Sounded like AA wanted more LH bats for the lineup. Also sounds like Saunders will be brought back if they deem him healthy enough which I think would be a smart move.
  14. Yeah this is a great point. Even if he doesn't like AA's philosophy you almost have to keep him for the 1st year just to ease the process. If you bring in someone new you likely are going to have to find new AGM, scouts etc... which is a massive operation while also trying to handle the business operations.
  15. The value gained from the Donaldson and Travis trades seem to get overlooked by a lot of people. And even the Tulo deal looks great considering they traded away what looks like $40 million in dead money on Reyes contract. Sure Tulo might not be the player he once was and the last year of the contract might not provide any value but to get a player his caliber while only having to trade 1 good prospect and another low level prospect is a steal imo.
  16. whats the cutoff for prospects to be promoted?
  17. Seems like a stupid take. Rooting for change just because is kinda dumb especially for one of the best teams in baseball.
  18. The Wildcard was never charged, I found this out last time. Because you got charged for 3 games for the ALDS/Wildcard round. If the team were to of made the wildcard the max number of home games the team could play was 3 because the wouldn't of had HFA for ALDS. Since the series went the distance that is all that was charged. I think there was a $60 processing fee so it should be that + 6 home games.
  19. They've always had amazing TV numbers when compared to league average so its always been a strong market even if the attendance numbers weren't there. There really aren't many teams that would be a "great" market if they had the success of the Blue Jays from 94-2014.
  20. I made around 7K profit if you were to just look at the revenue-ticket cost. I went to a few games and spent a ton of money but didn't include that. I'm probably just going to keep the money in the account for the refunds of non played games towards tickets for next year. I made over 1,000 just buying cheap tickets off stubhub and Kijiji then turning around and selling them for more. Some people tried to make a quick buck not realizing they could make more.
  21. Im looking to go down for the first time this year. Have you gone down previously? If so, what are some tips on the best time, places to go etc..
  22. Well if they made 80 million$ extra on the TV contract then they easily could afford a $150 million payroll. To be honest I'm fine if the payroll is in the 145 range as long as there aren't holes on the team that are caused by not having enough money in the budget. Put some of the extra revenue toward IFA, Dunedin, Rogers Centre facility improvement etc... Hopefully Shapiro is the guy that can convince Rogers what the Blue Jays need to be successful. Some of the medical equipment inside Rogers Centre is just awful.
  23. Because if he works out then you have a great asset who will provide value. Look at Francisco Liriano last year... Only got 39 Million and now looks like an extreme bargain.
  24. AA has already passed on him because of his character so I have a hard time believing he will take him now. Difference between Latos, Lackey and JD, Bautista is they are known as bad teammates while JB and JD are fierce competitors but their teammates have raved about them.
