  1. Imagine if they got Carrasco too? 100 win team
  2. They don't really need a SP. I guess they could use Hammel out of the pen but even with his 2 pitches he's a decent starter. Thats all you really need for a number 5
  3. He's pretty short for basketball. I guess he could be a runningback in football but if you are looking to maximize career earnings thats a bad choice. Health wise too.
  4. Thats actually crazy. Definitely a top 5 athlete in MLB.
  5. Cubs are so gooood
  6. Yeah Shapiro definitely doesn't seem to be a stars and scrubs type of roster builder.
  7. go home, you're drunk
  8. I get what you are saying but if pitchers get hurt this team will be giving starts to crap as well so I wouldn't exactly call our SP promising. I mean the Indians last year gave 13 Starts to trash so its not like there were fantastic in this area either.
  9. Why not just do a conventional 5 man rotation and have Chavez throw 100-120 innings out of the bullpen?
  10. Yeah I know. I was saying the payroll this year isn't much higher than it was in 2014. Have to remember each MLB team receives around 50 Million US for the national TV contract so the exchange rate would have around a 30% less impact. The exchange rate is more of a year to year challenge as you don't know what it will be in 5 years so you can't take a player's total contract and multiply it by the exchange rate.
  11. Aren't the courtside seats based on NHL arenas? Like courtsides only start where the outline of the boards are for hockey games. It doesn't seem like you could just move everything back since the lower bowl seats are permanent.
  12. http://www.sportingnews.com/mlb-news/4687552-yasiel-puig-is-worst-person-ive-ever-seen-in-baseball?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
  13. It'll never happen though since Owners would never agree to it. Courtside tickets are too much money.
  14. Pop is the GOAT. Hates the 3 point shot but still knows its one of the most efficient shots. He ran a beautiful play after a TO last night to get a wide open corner 3.
  15. The Jays had to have more than an increase in 30 million profit from last year to this year though, no? I guess if you go by opening day payroll its been increased by around 10 Million USD but it is still the same as it was in 2014. BLUE JAYS PAYROLLS Year 25-man Opening Day 40-man Year End (rank) 2015 $125,915,800 $ ( ) 2014 $137,177,700 $135,435,701 (10) 2013 $119,277,800 $125,879,791 ( 9) 2012 $ 83,739,200 $ 92,133,335 (17)
  16. Yeah you don't want it to turn into a 2014 situation where they wasted a really good chance. I've got confidence Shapiro can do what is necessary even if we haven't seen it yet.
  17. Thats why you let him have an opt out clause after 3 or 4 years.
  18. Hanley might actually be lazier than the other Ramirez who used to play for Boston.
  19. Baltimore is going to be terrible in the next 5 years. Thank our lucky stars DD didn't come to Toronto. If they did a rebuild they could be in a great position 2-3 years from now. Britton would get a massive haul instead he's just being wasted on this mediocre Os team. Same thing with Adam Jones.
  20. I would agree with that. I wasn't saying that he will become Liam Hendriks, more that the Jays hope he does lol.
  21. Os pulled back their 7/150 offer to Davis. Watch Davis not even get that now. It really didn't seem like there was anyone else bidding for him besides Baltimore.
  22. thats my point? Jays think there is upside to Biagini as a reliever since he will be transitioning from a SP much like Hendriks did.
  23. I'd agree with that. The challenge for this FO is going to be how do we make the blue jays "great" in 2016 instead of just "good"
  24. Hendriks was only averaging 91 as a starter as well.
