    Lol I don't think Jose is going to be pissed off hitting leadoff. Its not like his numbers are just going to go to s***. Tulo finally gout to hit in the middle of the order and didn't make a difference how well he hit. Theses guys want to win and I'm sure they won't stand in the way if the team will improve.

    Well I'll still take Pillar the hitter over Goins if thats what it came to. Just to balance the L/R split I think you would do that.

    They've both been crap. Take out Smoak's HBP and he's got a .125 OBP while striking out half the time. I think Smoak plays against a RHP that is more FB/CH. Unitl he can show he can lay off a low breaking ball pitchers will continue to strike him out.

    Only downside to having Saunders leadoff is you have b2b LHH with Goins so it makes it easy for a manager to bring in a Lefty late in the game. Could put Pillar 9th and Goins 8th though I guess.

    Bautista isn't stupid. He even referenced WAR in why he asked for the contract he did. If he gets moved up to leadoff he will get more PA and in theory produce more WAR. I'm not so sure he would turn down the idea. Even then Saunders hitting leadoff would be a lot better. My guess is they give it another week and if Pillar still is in a slump they change it up.

    It never was. After what Smoak did at the plate yesterday I don't see how you could have given him the start. He just can't make contact with a low breaking ball.

    To me what he's saying is only the teams that win a championship are considered to have been successful which I disagree with. If the Raptors make the ECF and take the Cavs to 6 or 7 games and ultimately lose I will be very happy and consider it a fantastic season. Just like the Blue Jays last year, even if you don't win the WS you can have an amazing season without winning a title. I'd even argue 10 years from now more people will remember Bautista's game 5 HR than which team won the WS.

    Bruno is likely terrible but if you look at the past 2 drafts it looks like a big success. 1 solid rotation player in Powell and a potential backup PG in Wright is a very good turnout when you are picking in the 20s. Draft is such a crapshoot even for teams that make "good picks" so to get a top 9 rotation player for league min. is really good. Getting another top 10 pick in this draft is just a bonus.

    I think you still have to give him credit for hitting those shots. The guy has been terrible for 2 years, to get 60 points and even hold up after taking 50 FGA at 37 years old is a remarkable accomplishment. I know the refs helped push along the story by putting away the whistles but I think its still a great moment and one of the best performances given the situation. This coming from a guy who does not like Kobe.
