    Walk rates mean nothing in the low minors. As you progress through the minors the pitching quality gets better and so you aren't going to get those walks off the pitchers who can't find the zone at all. Pretty sure even AA and AAA walks rates have a small correlation with BB rates in the Majors.

    Even though Pompey is performing I don't see the FO calling him up for at least another month. They spoke about how he was rushed in the past so I doubt they pull a U-turn and call him up based on 20 games. Saunders does look pretty s***** in the OF though. If Smoak continues to be this bad I think I would try Saunders out at 1B.

    I think I remember reading how if you were to take clutch stats and add it to a player's value Reddick's WAR decreased by like 6 wins or something ridiculous. Obviously there's noise in clutch stats but its interesting how remarkable unclutch he has been in his career. Found the article http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/josh-reddick-has-been-the-anti-willie-bloomquist/ Dead last clutch score in the last 40 years.

    He gets exposed in big games all the time. While his shot selection improved this year its still bad and not where you want it to be. I remember late in the game today he passed up a catch and shoot corner 3 only to take 2 dribbles and launch a fadeaway 2 feet inside the line. It actually went in but its still a horrible shot.

    So sounds like Alford's knee injury is pretty serious according to Davidi's article. Apparently its to the same knee he already tore is ACL back in HS. Going to try to rehab it instead of the surgery for now.

    I'm not saying a Good development program can turn crap talent into pieces but he did get drafted for a reason. So chances are the talent is in there. There's a strong liklihood Harris will fail, regardless of who develops him as thats the nature of the business. I think there is a much larged advantage to having a good development program than you are letting on though. There's a reason why some pitchers never succeed in some orgs and the Cardinals, Pirates and Indians keep producing MLB players.

    Its not even that bad Jays are 5-6. The Astros are friggen 3-7 and still look like they should win the division comfortably.

    Players know the managers make the lineup, GMs make roster moves etc.. They really don't have much say in anything and they know they are paid to perform not be GM or manager. This would apply if you were a legacy player like Jeter but not Kevin Pillar.

    this ump just has a horrible zone. That pitch was 3 inches outside too.

    Gross. Pillar just had a hell of an AB. Ump had that brutal one against the sox last inning to Shaw so it really did go both ways.

    Justin Mourneau? I know no one makes trades now but I wish they got someone else this offseason. Jaso was there for the taking.

    I'd rather have someone get on base. This team doesn't need a high K raw power guy.

    I'd just get rid of Smoak at this point. There has to be a LH hitter better than him at this point. You don't need him for defense at 1B as much since Tulo and Goins are such accurate throwers.

    Tulo seems to get caught looking on a lot of fastballs down in the zone.
