  1. Its quite amazing to see how they install these things. Gives me confidence about opening up RC more.
  2. Oh it would for me as well as I have tickets in Section 120 but they won't leave all that $ on that table, no business would. I'm sure they would do something for those STH who would get moved to other sections.
  3. There is a lot of corporate $ in the city and if they take out a bunch of the suites, I'm sure companies would be interested. You include VIP parking, food and drinks etc. 25K isn't that much when you consider the In the Action seats go for 20K already.
  4. I imagine they'll install some sort of premium club in the 100 Level between the dugouts like what Wrigley is doing. You can see it here https://cubspremier.com/ Instead of only getting $80/ticket they can offer a bunch of "unique premium clientele options" and charge 25-50K instead.
  5. http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/beeston-major-retrofit-rogers-centre-possible/
  6. 2nd Best offence in the league only slight trailing GS in Offensive Rating.
  7. His medicals must be s*** if a bad team didn't want to take a $2 million chance on him.
  8. Beeston was quoted as saying the stadium needs $200-$400 Million in renovations last year. If thats how much this reno would cost a new stadium makes a lot of sense. I mean you'll need a new one eventually anyway and like many have said its not going to get any easier to get land in Toronto.
  9. Don't tell Gruber, he'll think should be working on playing baseball. Serious note- I think its just the Ortiz fundraiser he holds every year in the Dominican.
  10. For the cost it would take, I'll pass. Rather sign a FA like Fowler and/or Bautista and save the prospects. I can't see this FO parting with the significant prospects it would take to land him.
  11. Things you thought weren't possible last year: Ross and Carroll have been worth more than their contracts this year.
  12. Think I saw Morales with that breakdown. Shpairo said yesterday Gurriel's salary would factor in to 2017 but that its quite small so sounds about right.
  13. He did make more contact within the strikezone so it could just be randomness. Like you said he still made overall contract at around the same rate as before. As for the shoulder issues, he played with that last year and was just fine offensively. Injury wise I would think the knee would have contributed more to his power loss, which should be fixable.
  14. Yeah they're probably going to need at least 100 Million when you include the infrastructure improvements probably more. Thats why I can't see grass going in because if you factor in that cost you may as well build a new ballpark. tr5
  15. Talent level after picks 20 are mostly the same. Where you hear if a draft is "great" or not they usually are talking about the top half of the first round.
  16. You do wonder why Rogers wouldn't want to build it on a huge chunk of land where they can have control their own hotel, restaurants etc and get extra revenue from those properties. RC is a great location for the fans but it really doesn't give Rogers any money from the surrounding area.
  17. Jays should target teams who don't value them as much like the Orioles and Angels.
  18. They likely won't. Just be slap on the wrist fines. Policy probably just in place to make it "look like they are doing the right thing".
  19. I never sit in the 500Level and its mainly that reason. Not only do they suck to walk up and down but it looks horrible too. Bad lighting and just concrete everywhere. I think taking out seats would be a good idea. Easier to move around, better seating etc.. The prices likely go up a good amount because of that but it'd be a good tradeoff IMO.
  20. I think the chance of grass being added is <5% so I didn't even include it.
  21. +1 for elevators/escalators to upper levels. I think what we'll see is very similar to what Cleveland did. Have more "open space" and group areas like the FlightDeck. If they could re-do the Outfield seating/bullpens that would be awesome but that might not be possible.
  22. 1. I'd take out a bunch of suites in the 300/400 Level and open a FlightDeck style open area. 2. Take out 3-5K seats and make them much larger and actually face homeplate (100 Level baseline) 3. Add in more club seats like the TD zone in the 100 level 4. Add in more bars like the Yankees have with the Jim Beam Suite Level. 5. Be tough logistically but see if you can do something with the bullpens like they have in other parks where you can watch the players without having a seat in that section.
  23. This is pretty big news. Thought it'd be fun/interesting to hear if you could make 5 improvements to RC what would you do?
  24. You would need the player's consent to go on the DL and I don't think pitchers would want to do that as DL time looks bad on a player's profile. MLB could just say they'll punish teams who do that in an unethical way.
