  1. Every city has its good and bad parts. Sure parts of Cleveland and Detroit suck but you know what so does Regent Park. With how many games baseball players play I'd say of all the sports the players have the least free time. They have what 6 or 7 home days off?
  2. Tbh I'm not so sure. Adding EE doesn't increase their odds of winning the division that much considering how big of a favourite they already were. The team is stacked though. I'll take their pitching over any other team in baseball.
  3. People should be more mad at the FO signing Smoak to an extension than anything. That was truly a terrible move.
  4. I was looking at this the other day but there really isn't any team that matches up in a trade for Donaldson than the Red Sox or Yankees who are in the division. The Mets and Giants could use a 3rd baseman but don't have the type of prospects that would get it done. All the contenders have a great 3rd baseman already.
  5. If you asked people in the baseball industry you would hear the same thing... And considering how he handled EE (his only high profile player) I think its fair to say he should not be representing players looking for big contracts.
  6. Cleveland basically has a cake walk to the division title next year and I can't see another team overtaking them in 2018 either. Thats 2/3 of his contract.
  7. Well he's a pretty bad agent. He went on the JB show like 5 times in the last month basically telling everyone how the negotiations were going. There are so many things he could have done better.
  8. Cleveland gives him a better chance of winning for the next 3 years than Toronto does...
  9. The same f***in morons saying it was a terrible job by the FO are the same ones clamoring that the Jays need to make moves now. If they got burned by not waiting on DH (honestly prefer Pearce/Morales/Pick)they clearly aren't going to do it again and wait on the OF.
  10. Willing to move Kinsler, Duffy, Harrison for SP.
  11. IIRC he got last years payroll right so his source is likely works for Rogers. I believe he had the Bautista $150 Million too.
  12. Feel like Bautista would be way better for Astros. Can play LF at least and is the same flyball-pull hitter that would benefit from that park.
  13. JB and EE would have full no trade clauses so you may not get back the best package out there. Plus trading Morales now looks pretty terrible on the org. That doesn't go unnoticed by other players and agents.
  14. I knew you were being sarcastic lol, was trying to say in general I hate when I hear that talked about on twitter, radio etc..
  15. How often are mutual options accepted? Seems like a wasted exercise since one side will always decline if the value isn't on their side.
  16. I'm saying theoretically...Also its not that hard for SP to get hurt like we saw a few years ago where 3 guys were lost in a week. Even if they are a few games back in the WC and sell off some players the ratings will suffer quite a bit.
  17. $165 is actually more than I thought it would be after the season ended. I'm fine with it if they put other $ into the development system (where ROI on performance is much higher). I think people are making way too much out of the attendance and the correlation with payroll. TV revenues matter way more and the performance of the team on a game by game basis impacts that much more than attendance would. They have a ton of seats already sold for the season through season tickets, flex packs etc... so you already have that money. But if the team is in last place in late August you are going to lose a few hundred thousand viewers per game which is worth a hell of a lot more to the bottom line considering Rogers owns SN.
  18. Its physically impossible to gain that much muscle in that short of a time frame. One of my biggest pet peeves is when so and so gained "x" amount of muscle in the offseason. They put on 15lbs of weight but not all muscle. Media just loves those friggen stories.
  19. I don't even think the Jays FO does that.
  20. I think Greene could improve a lot this offseason. He's in Dunedin working out with Sanchez, Tulo and a bunch of the other guys under the watch of the high performance team. We saw how much that helped Sanchez's delivery last year.
  21. I'm kind of glad they misread the market because I want no part of EE at 4/80 while losing the pick. Now go sign Bautista...
  22. Yeah his defensive versatility is big. Kind of a poor man's Draymond in that way that he can guard the 3 to 5 and switch on to guards. And on the offensive end he shoots the 3 enough to open up the floor for everyone else.
  23. Good article about why Patterson is so valuable. https://theathletic.com/30429/2016/12/20/what-is-patrick-pattersons-most-essential-skill/
  24. Why does it matter what a top 20 pick is worth? The pick is in the early 30s. Even with a wrecked arm Jose has been worth 5.8 WAR the last 2 years with a wRC+ of 136 16th best in baseball.
  25. The thing I don't get is why the hell did they offer Edwin $80 Million with the pick attached? That deal is a hell of a lot worse than 1/17 for Jose with the pick included.
