  1. Vs RHP 2012 wRC+ 172 2013 wRC+ 150 2014 wRC+ 119 2015 wRC+ 91 2016 wRC+ 114 2015 was after he had hip surgery and it was clear he didn't have his usual power the first half of the season.
  2. Those Tulo and Price trades look like pretty big wins. Norris and Boyd haven't done anything while they still have good potential neither look like more than number 4s at this point. They saved $50 Million on Jose Reyes and Hoffman and Castro haven't exactly been great with their clubs. I'd say that trade was also a big win.
  3. I'd the bat is above average. Certainly is vs RHP so as long as he's in a platoon he should be an above average player. There is some potential with the batted ball profile too.
  4. Moss would be a great platoon guy. He smashes everything in the air which is a good fit for the division too. Coughlan I'm not a fan of and I'd be pretty disappointed with Revere.
  5. Weird you would use a GIF of Hulk leg dropping Bartolo Colon
  6. Who's to say he isn't working on that right now?
  7. They'd get a haul for JD, Happ, Estrada, Martin, Tulo, Pillar, Osuna, Pearce and have the best farm system in the game. Sure it'd help if he could return something but the JAys would barely have any salary on the books at that point anyway.
  8. If he declines a trade isn't even that bad? He finishes his career with the Bluejays and make money off him for years to come..
  9. I don't think you could just assume Boston, Clevleand and Texas all win their divisions (certainly not the last one). Injuries and performance variance happens look at Washington a couple years ago. Even if you say all those teams make the playoffs + Houston that really only leaves NY and Seattle as the only competition for the other playoff spot.
  10. Not really. He's likely only coming here on a short term contract anyway. And given his age he probably would want to go to a contender if the Jays were out of it. If not, he finishes his career with the Blue Jays Win Win
  11. Gutting the roster now looks pretty bad towards the fans. Going in with a mid 80s win team and seeing what you have in June-July makes sense. If they are a few Games of the Wildcard come July you blow it up and rebuild for 2018-2019. With the amount of talent they would have to trade you could get a ton of young talent, more than the White Sox even got.
  12. I don't think they would have paid much more. I think he signs with Toronto if they match the offer. The CF thing I feel isn't really an issue because its not like its going to hurt his value for his next contract, this is going to be his last deal.
  13. With no DH they would have to make a trade? My guess is Peralta and Carpenter plays 3rd.
  14. MLB seems to be going the way of the NHL a few years back with basically any decent FA getting a full NTC. In today's climate those are probably worth more than 10% of the contract if not more. You lose all flexibility if the team has a down year and you want to move that player.
  15. Revere has one of the worst arms in MLB history. Its a legit 20 on the scouting scale. Funny story I was at a game when he was warming up in the OF with the ball boy and he threw a ball that short hoped him and ended up going into the crowd and hitting a poor fan.
  16. They both have 4 years left of control. Both project for a wRC+ of 90, with Pillar at 2.6 WAR and Inciarte at 2. Inciarte is almost 2 years younger so he has that going for him but Pillar has more offensive potential. Like I said the move doesn't seem to be worth the hassle and I'd expect both sides would turn down the trade if its a 1 for 1 as teams prefer their own players.
  17. That seems like such a lateral move that there would be no point in making it. You'd basically be pissing off all the fans since Pillar is a huge fan favourite for the left handed version of him. Rather just keep him and hopefully tap into his plus raw power.
  18. Brandon Moss is actually a perfect example for this. He used to be a guy who didn't strike out as much but didn't hit for more than average power. Starting in 2012 he went from 45% GB rate to one barely over 30%. His ISO jumped from the .150 range to the high .270s and his Strikeout rate increased 6-8%. He went from a replacement player to one of the better hitters vs RHP. Strikeouts aren't great but if you have elite power it makes up for it. Much better than having a slap hitter who "puts the ball in play".
  19. There seems to be some sort of elephant in the room among the media regarding Bautista and the FO that they don't see eye to eye or something. Davidi is one of the most connected people and he said the odds were basically zero today on the radio.
  20. I'm probably not as confident in the defence as you but I think the bat makes up for it. He should rake vs RHP.
  21. ? Had a wRC+ of 114 with a .236 BABIP vs RHP. Thats fantastic. He might strike out a lot but only 23% GB so he does damage when he does makes contact. Rogers Centre and the AL East should be great for him.
  22. If Bautista isn't an option I'd sign both Moss and Saunders. We really need 2 OF unless you want friggen Zeke in the startling lineup.
  23. Closer to average. Might be a little below tbh given his age.
  24. You could have him rotate with Pearce. Basically when Stroman and Sanchez start have Pearce play 1st (since he's really good there) and when Estrada and Happ pitch have Pearce play the OF and JB at 1st. Even with the terrible defense Jose can very well be a 3 win player next year.
