  1. He hasn't been bad, he just hasn't been great. But he doesn't need to be at his cost. 1.3 WAR in half a season last year and 2 already this year. He's a perfectly reasonable option @13.5 million a year considering the numbers he has put up.
  2. I don't understand the hate on the idea of getting Santana. It's not as exciting as David Price but he's a durable pitcher who gets decent results. Hopefully we just absorb his salary.
  3. Man I love this day. Can't refresh MLBTR enough. Very happy with the trades the Sox have pulled off so far this year, nothing scary to a Jays fan. Let's just keep Sale out of Boston please.
  4. I'm going back to my immature highschool days by taking satisfaction of those idiots over there. Love that Grilli made them lose their s*** with his celebration yesterday, they get fired up that their gonna get him back, but then he slams the door on them. Grilli is now enemy #1 in Orioles land.
  5. Floyd had thrown 3 of 4 games and threw back to back days for the first time ever just the other day. You couldn't bring him back out. Roster composition is more to blame than in game management for this one....though ultimately our defense is the culprit as a whole.
  6. Toronto fans are some of the worst in the world when it comes to booing players at inappropriate times. Those booing aren't the true fans. Of course this would happen in other cities, but Toronto does have a large amount of idiots in the stands on a daily basis.
  7. Remember when people didn't realize Zeke was the best player in the MLB
  8. It's hard to argue that there's not value in Baltimore at those odds. Sure, they are longshots for a reason, but for a team that is sitting at 7-0 those are good odds. I'll never be able to bring myself to bet on them, but if you bet with only your head and not your heart then it's a decent bet.
  9. Barry has sure tried to step up his image....nicer suits, trying to find a better/cooler hairdoo. Expect to see him in a tanning bed near you.
  10. Wait, this thread was deleted?!?! http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:cf8-5nYUmwYJ:forum.orioleshangout.com/forums/showthread.php/152318-No-Respect-for-O-s+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=ca What on earth?
  11. What a perfect thread to have my first post of the 2016 season in. The O's always were easy to hate for a number of reasons....plenty of douchebag players, terrible manager that somehow tricks some people into thinking he's good, horribly run organization......but once you realize just how clueless their fans are it just elevates the hate and disrespect to a whole new level. Add the Nazi controlled message board and it's really the perfect storm.
  12. Well that's about the most exaggerated first post you could have produced. You may not like the number of prospects that he gave up, but it's not like he went against his word about rentals - he said "ideally" you don't shop in a rental market, and for the most part, he didn't. His decision to do so was partially responsible for the success and run of this team. AA didn't leave this team in shambles and it's not as though every year going forward he was going to have to deal away prospects in the same manner as he did this year. You adjust to your current situation and AA would certainly have been capable of doing so. It's not like the farm is bone dry - sure an argument can easily be made he sacrificed the future for the present, but it's not as though the future is irreparable or that this team is destined for failure post 2016. Similar to people overreacting to AA being no longer with us, some people are doing the exact same with the way AA went about his business this year.
  13. “What have they won in Cleveland? Have they won a World Series since 1948?” asked one puzzled GM on Thursday. “Have they won anything since Shapiro and Chris Antonetti took over? No, they have never won anything in Cleveland and they will never win anything in Cleveland because they over value prospects in a very dramatic way. “They are worse to deal with than the Los Angeles Dodgers when every minor leaguer was going to be the NL rookie of the year. Shapiro probably doesn’t like the fact that the Blue Jays went for it because they never go for it.” Shapiro’s Indians reached the 2007 ALCS, losing to the Red Sox in seven games. From 2002, Shapiro’s Indians won 74, 68, 80, 93, 78, 96, 81, 65 and 69 wins until he was promoted upstairs.
  14. Some, but not all.
  15. So a new thread was started to say much of what others have already said. This thread was not that great.
  16. Well they don't have dynamic ticket pricing (premium vs non-premium isn't the same thing) and it's been clear that it's been costing them money. I'm sure that's something that will be considered for next year.
  17. Even though I know there are other competent GMs, I still feel gutted. I don't know of other GMs who could of pulled off the Donaldson trade. AA had a knack for the unexpected. I imagine Bautista isn't going to be happy about this.
  18. Shi Davidi ‏@ShiDavidi 1m1 minute ago Sources: Alex Anthopoulos leaving #BlueJays after turning down extension: http://bit.ly/20ctrOt
  19. Refunds should be completed shortly I'm told and a summary of the breakdown will be sent this week.
  20. I look at his entire body of work, I'm not buying that he somehow is a different pitcher in October.
  21. Reading some of the nonsense on this board makes you think people forget that we have one of the best pitchers in the game on the mound tonight. This is David Price, I have complete faith in him.
  22. Tickets flying now, was at 6,000 this morning down to 1,400 with several thousand in past couple hours. Lots of people scooping up deals
  23. At least the Royals don't work pitch counts up. Let's hope Estrada can go minimum of 6. With Stroman likely scheduled to throw today in a BP session then we can put him in the 7th for one inning and still use him Saturday.
