  1. OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG Gibby gave JD five after scoring that run they're besties again everything is ok we can still win the world series yay!!!!!!
  2. Absolutely. I wouldn't be surprised to hear a quote from JD admitting he was in the wrong. This is a non-event.
  3. I doubt it, way he's raking right now he could likely get 3/80
  4. Whenever I hear Kratz mentioned I think back to some conversation on here about how he was worth 25 million a year or something ridiculous. Always brings a smile to my face.
  5. They don't release those numbers, but the whisper number was 8-12k (wide range I know)
  6. I had season tickets, group tickets and flex packs. So I had opportunities to buy postseason tickets from all 3 of those accounts.
  7. Yes if every season ticket holder bought 2 extra it would eat up tons of inventory. Last year not only did you get to buy 2 extra, but there was another round where you got to purchase additional seats. Believe the same happened for flex pack holders. I had something like 16 seats in total because they kept offering more, so I imagine in the end season ticket holders will have extra opportunities above their regular seats.
  8. They did just that actually, there's a "500 level lower" section.
  9. Another price increase and some changes to the seating map. http://mlb.mlb.com/tor/ticketing/season.jsp#seating_map There's now a premium dugout and a premium infield zone, and the 500 level now has two price levels. I have 2 different sets of tickets in different zones and they're up about 15% total. And obviously they are trying to get people to lock in before the offseason so that they won't be judged purely on their offseason moves.
  10. Pricing looks like the same as last year, however the opportunity to buy tickets is more limited from the looks of it: http://mlb.mlb.com/tor/ticketing/postseason_q_and_a.jsp This Q&A stuck out in particular: I also bought a 2016 Flex Pack. Do I qualify for access to purchase additional Postseason tickets? Only 2016 Season Ticket Holders are guaranteed any right to purchase Postseason tickets. The Club may offer purchasers of 2016 Flex Packs with access to purchase 2016 Postseason tickets. If the Club chooses to do so, then you will be entitled to this access as well if you purchased a 2016 Flex Pack. Last year season ticket holders got to purchase their seats plus another 2 seats, however there's no mention of the additional two. And it sounds like they aren't guaranteeing flex pack holders playoff ticket access. This will cause a ton of outrage if that's the case.
  11. Would have been listed as "the field" or "other", I doubt any sportsbook had his name listed.
  12. This was already being worked on before he was on board, but I suppose the casual fan could attribute it all to him. However I think the casual fan also still wishes AA was still here.
  13. WPA I assume: 1. Britton (BAL) 4.4 2. Kershaw (LAD) 4.1 3. Cueto (SFG) 3.5 4. Sanchez (TOR) 3.2 5. Miller (2TM) 3.0 6. Osuna (TOR) 3.0 7. Dyson (TEX) 2.9 8. Scherzer (WSN) 2.7 9. Sale (CHW) 2.6 10. deGrom (NYM) 2.5
  14. Not sure the Jays would want him acting as a backup in 2017 as opposed to getting regular work in the minors. There's a good change that they would see more value in continuing his development as opposed to using him in a backup role in the bigs.
  15. The spirit of the original comment holds true - Grilli has been a fantastic pickup. Not sure why there needs to be two pages of nitpicking over whether it's "high reward" or not - fact is that it has worked out. And yes I love me some good old fashioned fist pumping.
  16. Getting it for nothing in a seller's market is an impressive feat.
  17. You likely could have found a way to get Hellickson or Santana. Certainly wouldn't have gotten an elite arm like Sale. Further depleting our prospect capital really didn't make sense based on the starters that were available especially when you compare those scenarios to what they did. They found a way to increase our prospect capital while adding an arm who has been better than Hellickson or Santana for much of his career and are gonna hope he can find it.
  18. It's actually less than 15 million as you have to include what Hutch earns next year. I don't think this trade is all that exciting other than it's creative. The fact we increased our prospect capital in the way we did was unexpected and frankly our system could use it. I very much like the trade, but I understand why it's not exciting when you look at making this years team better. Fact is they would have moved Sanchez to the pen no matter what. That's an arm that's almost impossible to replace so we were gonna get worse no matter what available starter we traded for. So we're relying on Liriano bouncing back, which is certainly possible as he has a large body of work with success, but obviously we can't assume he will. None of the trades made by Shaptkins have been all that exciting but he was dealt a fairly poor hand in terms of the trade bait he had to work with. At least the trades he made make sense based on where we're at, we just need to hope Upton plays well (and actually gets to play, Smoak is not doing this team any favours) and that Liriano falls somewhere in between what he's been this year and last year.
  19. Unbelievable retooling of the Yanks system. Great job on their part.
  20. Santana has consistently been the better pitcher of the two. Hellickson is younger so if you really believe in the bounceback year he's having maybe you can argue you'd want him over Santana if they both had extra years on their contracts, but he's a rental at this point.
  21. Only if you think he somehow projects to be under 2 WAR in each of the next two seasons.
  22. Well he hasn't been better than Santana in any of the years he's been in the bigs and obviously there's a lack of confidence from the organization (and most fans) in how Hutch will produce. I would have more faith in Santana personally. As to who he will replace it's a reasonable question and I don't know the answer. I'm sure it would be a criticized move no matter what the answer. I would prefer jamming Dickey in the pen, telling Thole to take a walk and using Santana in the rotation. But that's likely not going to happen.
