  1. You're absolutely right. I've never been more glued to every pitch
  2. What's hilarious is this: "It's never been like this before ... ever in my life. I went to pick up food last night, just riding back to the hotel on my scooter after the game last night. The amount of people that recognized me and yelled at me just riding my scooter." My wife and I met him along Queens Quay that day. I couldn't help myself and had to stop him and shake his hand and tell him how excited we were to have him in Toronto. He was very nice and didn't shy away from the attention. He was on a funny looking scooter thing riding back to I assume the Westin hotel
  3. Even with all the big games Price has pitched in, I suspect the ovation he gets when he takes the field will be one of the loudest he has received in his career. 45,000 fans foaming at the mouth ready to see him pitch the Jays to victory. I don't remember the last time I was this excited for a game.
  4. Rather slim pickings. Roemon fields will be up for his speed off the bench.
  5. With expanded rosters in September he won't need to replace anyone. Knowing this organization I could see them trying to stretch him out so he could start in the playoffs. If he can come back he will be used.
  6. No, no he's not. If he pitches game 162, there's no chance he's starting that wild card game. None. And you're on crack if you think the division has LESS value these days. It's massive - from a playoff success standpoint and an organizational standpoint. You aren't even guaranteed a home playoff game (and therefore millions in ticket revenue) if you are the second wild card team.
  7. And doesn't it just feel like there's no way Stroman isn't coming back? I have to put the odds at 70%+ that we see him in September the way he's been working and talking about it.
  8. They only go up against Price is he didn't just pitch to secure our wild card berth. There's no guarantee he's available. Winning the division has so much value these days that the fact the Yanks didn't do anything at the deadline to stomp on our throats is surprising.
  9. 6 back isn't insurmountable and the Yanks appear to be playing over their heads......Pineda's injury certainly hurts them as well. Can't get too caught up in trying to catch them, just win games and hope we win 9/13 against them. If we do we have a great shot
  10. Ned Yost is the one who should shut up, what an embarrassment of an interview
  11. PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE make us see why you're still here
  12. who plays 3rd now if JD needs a day?
  13. so why cant we return him to the 40 man? because he's already placed on waivers?
  14. Ugh, so what's the 10 day window mean in this case? that we can try to work out a trade before then?
  15. And if we still have 8 relievers mid week then I'll start questioning it more, but I feel as though there's more to come from this. Justifiable or not, the fact that we used 6 relievers last night probably crept into their thinking. If he's claimed, it's not like we automatically lose him from my understanding. We can still pull him back to the big league club (unless we trade him) can we not? My hope is that we see him again soon. If I'm mistaken on the process, then correct me
  16. I get it, I am growing tired of Cola as well. But not every move a FO makes will make sense and sometimes there are other factors that we don't know about. At the end of the day we've made some very impressive moves as of late and I'm not going to s*** all over our FO because of one rather insignificant decision in the grand scheme of things. That said, I can believe that this was influenced by Gibby. I also don't believe that there aren't any other moves to come from this.
  17. my guess is he would "consider" it if they get continued length from their starters. Extra innings used up some arms, that could have been a factor.
  18. Jesus. A 10 page thread on this move after most people bitch when Valencia was put in the lineup. I don't love this move either, but not every move is as simple as looking at the fangraphs page for two players and picking the one with the higher number in the far right column. It's not like this undoes all the deadline moves that were made, it's not going to break our season. Keep it in perspective people. Nice to see Kawasaki back, hopefully David Price falls in love with him and resigns with us at a steep discount so he can be around his energy for the next 7 years
  19. shouldn't be demoted, but he's not a spitting image of last year's Drew. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/did-drew-hutchison-really-change-his-slider/
  20. haha, that's a fun exercise
  21. Unlike most, I like what he brings to this team. Let's hope the return isn't too high.
