  1. If you can get Cueto and Chapman as a package, I think you have to do it. The Jays can't afford to sit around. Either rebuild or go for it. They don't have the roster for a long sustained run thanks to the GM's moves two years ago. So try to win over the next two years and let the chips fall where they fall in 2017. They could still have a good team in 2017 even if they traded Norris, Hoffman, etc. I hate teams with windows of contention but the fat man in the GM chair has given us no choice.
  2. I knew the Jays won because the rest of the AL East won as well.
  3. On the bright side, Osuna has only been used once since Sunday, and that was only because Boyd couldn't record an out so the pen had to finish 9 innings.
  4. With the way Syndergaard looks, AA is going to give Dickey every opportunity to right this thing, even if it means falling out of contention.
  5. Let Dickey throw 150 pitches today. Who f***ing cares. He doesn't have a UCL. Don't burn the bullpen on this game.
  6. R.A. s***** today, and then Estrada tomorrow (post-130 pitches hangover and all). Jays gon get swept.
  7. Reyes to the Mets for Colon. Who says no?
  8. Welcome to the good side. It's a lot nicer over here.
  9. I take back what I said before about not trading prospects. This is Toronto's best shot at a playoff spot and they are running Doubront out there ffs after Copeland failed and Boyd had terrible start. Trade for Hamels. End the madness.
  10. Hutchison better throw a CG tonight. Don't know who the Jays can count on in the middle innings this weekend with so many guys being used against the Red Sox. Definitely should have waited to call up Doubront.
  11. Agreed. The problem is if you want to win this season and next season, then that's not feasible. They need to add, and the only way to add in July is by trading prospects.
  12. Boyd had to be sent down. He forced the team to destroy its pen for a game and they need fresh arms. Boyd and Redmond were the only options to demote. As I said before, should have called up Norris instead.
  13. Yep, trade for someone. Don't care who it is. We need starters who can at least record an out.
  14. Smoak is not good against lhp so this makes sense, but he better be playing the next time they face a rhp.
  15. I doubt it. He's not good and I think everyone knows it. Even Dave Stewart moved on to someone else.
  16. I still think one team will go on a run and break from the pack. Teams look so evenly matched at this point, all with strong points and pronounced weaknesses, tough to say which team it will be. I guess whoever has the best trade deadline.....
  17. Someone in the Jays media mentioned on Twitter that Norris could start in the White Sox series, and mentioned the White Sox as being terrible against LHP (Boyd and Buehrle are set to pitch in that series as well). Wouldn't shock me if Norris gets his next regular turn in Chicago, if true.
  18. Tied with the Rays now. Would be nice of the Angels to make a 9th inning come back, but Betances Time means no chance.
  19. That would be better, but Rogers won't see it that way. If the Jays are intent on doing a big trade this trade deadline, and someone like Norris has to be included in any deal, then I'd rather trade for Hamels than a rental. At least with Hamels we get him for 3+ years. Norris for 6 years might end up being better value from 2016-onwards, but getting three years of an ace for that price is better than 2 months.
  20. Orioles leading 4-2. At least Texas took the first two. I wasn't even expecting that much help. Indians still leading 5-0. Yankees up 1-0. Angels need to start hitting.
  21. I'm down for Pompey in LF. Carrera has done a solid job as a depth option, but Pompey has the defense and upside the Jays need in the second half, and Colabello has done about as much as he's ever going to do offensively (no where to go but down).
  22. He has power, draws walks, and play defense at first. It's ok if you are not in love with him as a player, but he shouldn't be benched for Fatty and Colabellol. He is a better option than both of them, and still has enough upside to possibly be more than he's shown.
  23. I wonder how long before people realize Navarro is not being showcased, and even if he was, do you know how ridiculous that would be? "Let me play a s***** back-up catcher over far better player so I can get a middle reliever in return for him in a trade in case a team has a catching need in a month". Teams that showcase replacement level players do not deserve to be in positions of management.
  24. Am I the only one who expects Norris, Boyd, Castro, and a returning Sanchez to be the only pitching help the Jays get this summer?
  25. Gibbons likes Navarro and Goins. Even at the expense of the team.
