    Two pitches in the strike zone, take both of them, then swing at the slider out of the zone. This team needs a new offense next season. The pitching has saved them all season, and are trying their best to save them again, but it's not working.

    Take two pitches down the middle, complain to the ump, and then swing at a pitch at their shoes. It's like clockwork with how predictable it is.

    Man does it seem like the Jays take pitches until it's two strikes and then begin swinging (usually at bad pitches)? It's happened a lot.

    1-1 heading back to Toronto would be fine with me. Jays were facing Kluber, but now the match-ups favor them considerably. Time to take advantage.

    Diaz was Game 2 of the ALCS last year, right? He was consistent in that game but consistently awful.

    Yeah he had a good finish to the season in Texas. Get him on a 1 or 2 year deal at a higher AAV and I think it's a better option. But if he's getting long term deals elsewhere, then pass.

    Yeah I don't think anything has changed. A four year deal takes him through age 37, and he will likely decline well before that. They will probably make an offer that makes sense for the team (something along the lines of what Cespedes got minus the player opt out) but I don't think they will be making any sentimental moves that don't make long term sense. I think Jose's poor season (by his standards) makes him more realistic for this front office than Edwin. But if you want to give less years and higher AAV to minimize risk, then someone like Carlos Gomez makes sense. Maybe a trade for Puig. There are options out there.

    Stro, Estrada, Happ, Sanchez. That's my guess on what actually happens. Works out so that Sanchez only pitches once, which limits his innings.

    Not true, if the Indians win tonight, they'll have one fewer day of rest, which means they'll be more focused and less rusty. /narrative

    Barney had a 1.5 WAR as a utility infielder. He should be and will be tendered. Man, was that two week stint in the pen in 2014 the reason for Stro being a Super 2? Ugh. Alex gon Alex.

    Has Rogers ever meddled with the Jays? Godfrey did based on things I've read but it appears AA had free reign under Beeston and I don't see why it would be any different with Shapiro and Atkins. I don't think Rogers will force them to do anything as far as Bautista and Edwin. It will come down to whether the front office can sign them to deals they are comfortable with. If they can't, then both will be gone and the FO will find replacements. Anything beyond two years for either player would be a mistake imo. Team needs to get younger and more upside. You don't pay big money for a player's decline.

    If both agree two year deals, then I'd give both high AAV's and be ok with it. But Edwin's going to want more years than that. Bautista might take two if his market is down but I'm not sure it will be.

    Cleveland to avenge the loss to LeBron. Plus, I wouldn't feel like s*** if the Jays lost to the Indians. With Boston, I would.

    Let's lose the next 2 games so that the series can go back to Texas for a one game coin flip just so in case the Jays advance they can stay sharp for the next series? Yeah, no thanks. You can't control when the games are played. Just go out there and win.
