  1. Rojas and Roden for Varland and France.
  2. Bednar and Doval is a strong deadline for the Yanks.
  3. When Lukes' wife was giving birth earlier this season, Lukes was like "tell me how it went babe, I'll be in the outfield". He's now the lead off hitter. Ross doesn't play.
  4. I don't mind getting rid of Wagner. He's super ordinary, no pop and was taking 3B reps away from Barger. Not sure about the return, though. Anyone know about Valanzuela? The Jays do need catching depth regardless.
  5. AJ Preller treating every season like it could be his last one on earth has to be fun as a fan. I guess as long as he keeps replenishing the farm system.
  6. Correa back to the Astros. Wow.
  7. After the Bednar trade, I'm calling Cherington up immediately if I'm Ross. See what it takes to get Oneil Cruz or something.
  8. Ben Cherington was part of the Jays org from 2017-19. Now it's starting to make sense why the team sucked so bad at making trades during that time.
  9. Which difference making RP's are still out there? Jax and maybe Suarez if he's even available. Not sure who else.
  10. There goes Bednar.
  11. In a clip I saw online, Morosi said Alcantara and Suarez with a heavy Hispanic accent, but then said Cabrera in the whitest way possible. He confused himself.
  12. It will be a six man rotation. Only one they can drop from the rotation and avoid an ego issue is Lauer, but he’s been the best SP on the team. Keep the geezers healthy for the stretch run. Maybe extra rest will mean Schneider lets them go deeper in games more often (ex. Don’t pull someone who is cruising through 6 on 76 pitches).
  13. Yeah one thing the Jays have done with this front office in recent years is spend money. If there’s mutual interest in a long term commitment, and Bieber looks like he’s back performance/stuff-wise, then I think the Jays would have a strong chance to get it done. Takes two to tango though.
  14. Yeah I think this is a great move. Risky but much needed risk. The Jays have a rotation full of #3-4’s. They didn’t need another one or a swing man, they needed a SP who could start Game 1 of a playoff round without looking out of place. If the price for anything resembling that in this market (Ryan, Alcantara) was too high, then this was the move to make, IMO. No doubt that he’s opting out unless he gets hurt again, but even if best case it’s a rental, it’s still the type of move that shifts the ceiling of this team (potentially).
  15. Looks like Stephen for Bieber is close, per Trollosi.
  16. Yeah that seems pretty light for Duran. I was expecting it to be a massive overpay. Obviously it depends on how Tait develops, but an 18 year old catcher could be like 5 years away.
  17. Curious to see the return on this one.
  18. Looks like the rental market for relievers will be expensive. Jumping early on Dominguez might end up looking shrewd. I suspect the cost for Helsley will be higher than originally thought.
  19. Should have been a split but I’ll take it. Could have easily been a sweep for the O’s. No issues getting 1 and getting the F out of Baltimore.
  20. Blowing this game would be a punch to the gut. Come on Hoffman, shut them down.
  21. Hoffman facing 3-4-5 will be interesting in a terrifying sort of way.
