    I'm warming up to Drury. I don't think he's a bad player, just not the type of player I wanted the Jays to get. The Yankees have high upside P's in their lower minors and I probably would have done Happ for one of Medina/Contreras/etc straight up instead of this, but the other point is valid in that we don't know if the Yankees were willing to part with any of them for Happ. If Drury's underlying numbers turn into results soon then maybe he can be flipped for something better.

    Yeah that's what I'm guessing. Drury has 3-4 years (whatever it is after his demotion) of control left, meaning the Jays can trade him in a year or two if he performs well. It's more asset management than trying to hit a home run with a lottery ticket. Might work, might not. Remains to be seen.

    I don't see any need for Solarte now with Drury on board, so I think they move him as well.

    Ugh. I'm a Shatkins fan, but they struck out on this one. Hopefully Drury becomes as good as some in this thread think he can be.

    Not about the money, but years of control. Three years of Drury when at least 1 if not 2 of those years are going to be bad is kind of pointless. WOuld rather have guys with six years of control left or still in the minors with upside.

    If Drury did not have any MLB service and was like a year or so younger, then I'd be fine with it, but isn't he arb eligible after this season? I don't see the point.

    Would much rather have McKinney than Drury, and I'm not a fan of either of them.

    Two players for Happ with one being Drury? That second player better be damn good.

    I'm not down with Drury as the main piece. Get at least one of the lower minors pitching prospects.

    Drury, Medina, and another low minors prospect (one of Garcia/Contreras) for Happ and Maile. I'm down.

    Just put both Noda and Spanberger in Dunedin. Clemens is trash.

    Or it could be Happ and Maile for Drury and 2 prospects, or something along those lines. Who knows. I agree though, Drury has to be a bit piece in the deal.

    I think I read he's starting in Lansing. Yeah they need to move him up quick. Although if Noda is any indication, they will take their time.

    Maybe the Jays want to add Drury so they can flip Solarte somewhere else (saves them 2019 money if they intended on picking up Solarte's option). Still there would have to be prospects involved from the Yankees side.

    Jays just need to add talent. Doesn't matter if it's P or hitting. Just take the best deal you can get. Minor leaguers are movable parts. You can trade them for pitching later.

    I thought/was hoping the extra year of Oh would net something better. He's been a 1 WAR RP so far with 2 months to go in the season so performance was there. It's probably fair overall though.

    Joel Sherman just said that he's heard the Jays like Drury and that Drury is available. That's all I took from his tweet. I doubt it was related to anything specific like the Jays wanting him in return.

    105 wRC+ for Kendrys now. That's quite a hot streak he's been on. Still overpaid but at least useful with the bat now.

    No way the Jays voluntarily let a player they are about to acquire stay in a game even if it’s the minors. It would serve no benefit to them. I wonder what’s the hold up. Physicals probably. The Rangers were scared of Oh’s medicals in the winter so who knows.

    Man I’d keep Oh before I sell him for scraps. Hope it’s something better.

    Agreed. High risk and far away from the Majors but huge upside. Rather have that than guys closer to the majors with less upside. But will Yankees move him for a rental?

    This will be Oh’s second really good year in 3 years and he makes $2.5m next year. He’s not prime Britton, but Britton isn’t even prime Britton anymore and is a rental. I’d hope the Jays get more but reputation is on Britton’s side.
