  1. Transition year. One year deals for vets hoping to flip them and play or acquire flawed players with upside for reasonable cost to see if they can turn it around (Grichuk, Drury, Diaz types). I think 2020 is when we will see a lot of young players on the mlb team at once.
  2. Good lord Santos in. This game will end in 4 hours.
  3. Call me crazy but I think having Tulo around to mentor Bo will be a good thing. I mean no one is going to trade for him so might as well use his vetrin presents to our advantage.
  4. I don't know what the payroll situation will be like next year but I think the team would rather not pay JD ~$20m even on a one year deal. I think they trade him in August or hope he declines the QO. I wouldn't have an issue with JD on a one year deal but I think payroll is going to slide substantially, and the Jays may want to see what they have with Drury, Gurriel, and eventually Vlad.
  5. Yeah no way he’s retiring with the amount of money he has left on his contract. But who knows.
  6. So the official tally (for now) is: Espinal Wall Spanberger PTBNL Drury McKinney Giles Paulino Perez Waguespack Copping
  7. Read the post man. I just said it’s not surprising considering who we gave up. It’s a boring ass day.
  8. I like Grandy but would much rather see AB’s going to McKinney/Smith/Pompey types over last two months. Crazy that he wasn’t moved. No doubt he will be moved in August but surprised it didn’t happen today.
  9. Grandy is still productive and a known clubhouse guy. I'd be shocked if no one traded for him even if it's for a C level nothing prospect.
  10. Last two trades have been disappointing after the big first 3 (Oh, Happ, Osuna), but considering who we traded that's not a shock. Surprised we got anything for Axford.
  11. Axford to the Dodgers.
  12. Archer lost so much money signing that extension.
  13. Biagini part 2?
  14. Seriously, the only times I remember Loup is still on the team is when he's brought into a game. I'm not expecting much.
  15. Maybin to Seattle. Grandy to the Yankees is probably a formality now. History with the team/GM plus a great clubhouse guy and still productive.
  16. Loup has a 3.61 fip and 10.6 k/9. I barely remember he's on the team some times but those numbers aren't too bad. Maybe he could fetch a lotto ticket after all.
  17. Definitely moving Granderson. The relief market is so cluttered I really don't know if teams would value Clippard/Axford/Loup more than anyone else on the market. If they are moved it won't be for much. I'd say outside shot Solarte gets moved, but I'm not expecting any surprises.
  18. Yeah seriously, unless Passan has some evidence or even credible hearsay to make those claims, that's pretty low on his part.
  19. Man the Jays should have gotten in on that since they trade with the Cards so often.
  20. Well deserved. Trollosi has been doing this for years.
  21. The Mirage might have to DH permanently.
  22. Estrada's September ERA will be like 1.74 with the Jays. But any time the dude is in trade rumors, he shits the bed. At least it seems that way.
  23. Yes this was selling low, and less than he's worth as a player, but if the Jays were forced to move him (i.e. Rogers being Rogers) then this was far more that I was expecting, and probably others as well. The situation was not ideal. Jays were in position of weakness. To get a reliever who could conceivably be as good or better than Osuna this and next year, without the DV baggage (douchebags are easier to move than guys accused of DV), plus two lotto ticket prospects who had depth to the system is pretty solid. If the Jays can revive Giles a bit then this winter or next July he could be traded for prospects as well. Either way, if ROgers didn't want Osuna on the team anymore, then this had to happen. Best of a bad situation.
  24. Ffs just trade Solarte for a bag of balls.
